This is an important piece!
you have to line up your seat frame, get your squared corners, and lengths to your new side pieces , all at the same time!!!!
This took me 3 hrs, checking and 2 nd , and checking it one more time!!!
Also worked on the gas tank compartment! Equally as exasperating!. Measuring, 3 times, and then cutting!
TOTAL LABOR TIME 7 HRS

I'm back! Had a family emergency out of state and the holidays!
Well got the gas tank floor in, sides of vehicle off and under body kit installed over the last few days
Also Guy Loomis called yesterday , he was in town and wanted to check out my progress.
Spent a couple hours going over the project and then put 50 miles off-road with a couple other 151"s that I have.
Thanks Guy for all your advice and helpful hints to move this build forward!

I found two full side panels buried in the warehouse the other day! (old Florida tactical pieces) They are a close match, not correct rolled bends on the edges(I will take pics tomorrow) .
They will work fine for this project though!

Rails up?, now you are replacing the rails too. (LOL) The saying is in the restoration biz "The only part of the car I could use was the shadow".

Got the new rails in today!
Also got the tool box floor in and battery box floor! I am planning on using body seam caulk fairly heavy on the underside to insure rust wont be an issue for the new owner!
And yes it will be for sale at the completion of the project!
If your interested in purchasing it ,PM me

I opted to do any body work on this panel before I mounted it!
Sure doesn't look like I did much! took 6 hrs .
Fabricated both lower corners and axe cut out and apron around axe cut out.
A lot of grinding ,body filler sanding and d-a sanding the metal!
I will be priming this part before attaching it!

Well so much for constructive criticism,
Just got off the phone with my brother in law(NUCULAR CERT> WELDER) laughing his ass off over my welding skills!
I have to go back and check every weld! That's gonna take a few days! Also reminded me about my copper plate he sent me for thin welds!

I wouldn't worry about your brother. I'm no expert but they look as good as the factory ones I've seen over the years. You shouldn't have any problems. :)

I am sure he is trying to be helpful but Nuclear welding and auto body welding are to very different specs. I seriously doubt he has very much rusty sheet metal to weld in the plant LOL. Great job on the project!!!
