We have original setup for glowplugs.

we did not measure the new glow plugs before built in... so it could be that one was defective and so did the others too ... We last fixed a bug in generator 2, which was bought completely new and installed with a new regulator. In the end it turned out that the coals were stuck in the regulator and therefore the alternator did not charge. Who opens a new alternator and checks the inner workings ... we now! At the moment I am endlessly annoyed about so many errors in the system. Not that we had completely overhauled the engine and the electric. Now I have to take the cylinder head down again and hope that the damage is not too high.

My first engine overhaul 1980... on my first car Ford Capri
young and inexperienced but still he ran again after the job - only to be crashed by a friend around 6 month later
Engine 1,6l and 68 HP - really much at that time for 20 years old young men on the road in germany

I hope nobody cares if I take a short trip into the past

Another special engine project was 16V Volvo 2,4l 156 HP
complete dismanteld as after rollover breaking timing gear with big damage
But a special engine got a special repair to be saved for the future
driven by my wife 2004 - come out of the car without any injury - volvo follows the sentence safety-car

Electronic factory immobilizer has failed and nothing works anymore ... or rather the display says: contact your workshop immobilizer unlock not possible.
Got a new ignition lock with immobilizer elektronic .... nothing to repair just exchange

of course got a repair as this is a fun car - small, fast and bity 2,4l Diesel 180 HP and weight of 1400 kg but only for small people - all about 1,80 m must bend themselves to come in or open the roof.... :ROFLMAO: so you imagine it is the car of my wife, i prefer higher entrance, no bending inside and smoother suspension as that sport version of the C30... ok i got old, i know

Those bent valve look streamlined, sell them on ebay as a custom 'go fast' part.

they are a special mementos what a small driving mistake can result ... Fortunately, only material damage without further involved. I have leftovers like these from all of my engine repairs - but I usually turn them into metal design gifts. Only just these not, because my wife don`t want give them away.

Maybe I am crazy but no car of mine gone sold, all former cars drove until their dead and than they gone to the scrap press. I take from each a part, like tacho, the tank fuel filler flaps, emblems ... and so i have now a small collection. In fact i didn`t wear out a lot....
Fortunately, my wife shares this passion and whenever it comes to tidying up, these parts are only relocated but never disposed of.

Last tidyng up was the moving my workshop to another location 2020.
As hunters and gatherers, the old localization became to small, specially to work on the chevy

Unfortunately, I couldn't take the hydraulic lift to the new location. I bought them new just 3 years ago. I sold them.

In the new location is a Scissor lift for 3,5 to delivery vans - enough for the chevy and changing tires on the volvos

Very Interesting. A ride on broom. I was always a push mower guy and still use the Honda HRX217 to push mow the lawn. I have 2 Honda tractors that I could use but I need the exercise. I see the ride on broom in your picture. WOW. Nice. I always sweep the shop with a push broom and every time I am completed with the sweeping I clean up the piles and discard them. My friends help me sweep sometimes and they sweep the dirt out the door. I explain that if the effort was taken to sweep it up it should never be swept up again. Discard it. As you mentioned I save lots of parts also. I have a few buildings, a barn and several M1010 bodies full of parts. I have pretty good knowledge of what I have but still like to get things out to the people that need the parts. If it is scrap I scrap it and sell it for scrap. I have been discovering that many things I have saved have become valuable. Facebook market and word of mouth have helped me to turn some of my saved parts into CASH. So some say junk I say NO CASH. You are right
Before our Volvos go to the Scrapper was they stripped on all what ´just still useable, never to got new and later sold part by part. Like the CUCV are the 9er Volvos Dinos in the car scene and much of them still running.
Volvo 745 Rollover was no more to save on it....
Volvo 945 16V 360000 km and also Turbo 520000 - both gasoline - was really naked as the gone and parts of them help others to complete their volvos again. Most gone to NL as there seems to be a big fangroup of volvo.

The decision was 2017 as one of them stand around 6 Weeks to got replacement parts after a deer was captcherd

At least we got the parts but also start up looking for a newer car
It was a hard descision but Volvo or chevy.... one had to go

I must confess that cleaning tool is not mine. Just rent for a groundcleaning from the former renter of that shop.
My sweeper in the shop is manually done by my wife as she said thats a way to support me on the repair. She is surely not an expert but as she is by my side since more than 35 years almost in the shop, she got now a lot of knowledge. I am really lucky to have such a wife.

Our small and compact Mowingmaschines have Oats-Engine, free-running, almost maintenance free, however, with high fuel consumption....

GREAT SUCCESS: I have sourced a new Delphi fuel lift pump for a CUCV. A Delphi HFP906. I am trying to do some negotiations to get more. I just wanted to put that out there. CUCVRUS yes corona has put a lot of strain on the economy. I notice it in my job in the metal industry (we actually have trouble getting shipping boxes... same like toiletpaper in the supermarket :ROFLMAO:) and also in May this year when I had to wait 2 weeks for standard suspension springs for my wife's little Volvo runabout. Usually are parts overnight delivery on our volvo-shop.
In the supermarket we saw for the first time what our grandparents had experienced - empty shelves 😱 and the fuel prices....
Today 1,53 Euro / Liter for diesel and 1,64 for gasoline
In February this year we had 1,17 Euro for Diesel and 1,24 for gasoline

Update:
Engine is now checked and at least found damage on two Conrod bearing shells on 7/8 conrod.
Although we did everything we can to ensure the oil flow and oil film everywhere at the start after a long downtime, this was unfortunately not the case.
Fortunately, the damage is limited to the Conrod rod bearing shells

No damage on the piston rings or any other part.
Cylinder Surfaces all fine
Next week will it be checked by the engine specialist if my assesment is right

There was only one left for removing the crank and camshaft. All bearings were in order but if we have already gone that far, the engine should be thoroughly cleaned and that is just bare

And my shopping list is getting longer and longer - because all or nothing is the motto now.
I was close to buying the 6.5l diesel that GM offered as an exchange engine here in Germany, but the effort is enormous. Just another complete technical Verification (more cubic capacity, more horsepower ...) and no one who tells me here that everything works with the 6.2 l subsystems.
I found out, however, that the engine was repaired during army times. My wife directing me to a small plate that was painted over with engine paint.
Memo to me: if your child wants to paint the engine red because he thinks it's cool, make sure that nothing important is painted over ... that was done 15 years ago.

Does that tag mean that it is bored .075 in each cylinder?
