I agree! It could work as a theft deterrent too, just sayin...
Also a good idea.Good idea!
To prevent runaways, i would install one of these: http://www.esdvalvellc.com/diesel_valves_aluminum.html
Did you see any pricing on those?Good idea!

I actually like the FDC. Mine works great for now, and in the future if it starts to act up I might see if I can fix the sealing problem by a little machine work and adding some 'O'rings.I was going to ask the same question. You knew it was going to happen Rusty...
That's a great valve, but how much does it cost ? I had that "WOG 1/2" NPT Ball Valve" just laying around so it cost me just the one fitting and some time. Most of our runaway engines are caused from the injection pump going "wonky" . That is the official term also.Good idea!

It's just a standard "WOG 1/2" NPT Ball Valve" I used that larger valve since the hole in the valve is actually 3/8" . I just used bushings to bring it back to size. What type of valve is that Rusty, I need to look into that for my 6bt
I had actually bought a Cummins engine fuel shut-off valve, but I didn't want to be dependent on the electrical system to shut down. I do like that butterfly idea though. How much does it cost ?Sorry for hijacking....your idea is good and i also like the keep it cheap and simple way.
I just like the idea with stopping it from the driver seat.
