With the V12 V off getting a drive shaft made I had an empty garage and a moment to think…..

…..So I put a turbo on my other V, and it goes like this

Take one 998

IMG_1792.jpeg

Acquire 6.5 turbo manifolds for the princely sum of 175$

IMG_1879.jpeg

Go on marketplace and get a 6.0 powerstroke turbo (because whistle)

IMG_1893.jpeg

Utilize the plethora of piping I have laying around and….

IMG_1887.jpeg

My copes are all free hand and my welds are more along the lines of yes the metal is stuck together but don’t look at them but it’s good enough for the girls I hang out with

IMG_1892.jpeg

I’m using a 60mm gate to try to keep this 35psi turbo down to a level that won’t make the 40 year old 6.2 vomit parts out of all its orifices so that will be fun

I used the regular 6.2 drivers manifold and used half the 998 y pipe and half of a turbo cross over pipe, and its ugly but whatever

IMG_1891.jpeg

I’ll make the turbo oil lines tomorrow and then sort the whole getting the air into the engine thing

How are you going to tackle the oil feed/drain? Looking good! I'm going to be building a turbo setup on my 6.5 but I'm going to mount in the v of the engine.

I did the oil feed from a T fitting off the back of the engine at the oil pressure sensor and I ran the oil drain through the fuel pump block off plate since the truck has an electric lift pump

Adjusted fire, swapped turbos

Runs and drives and makes turbo noises
I would strongly suggest that you go to a place like rubber duck or Mod Mafia and purchase a solid aluminum coolant overflow fluid container. Your turbo is very close to that plastic coolant container.

I might also wrap the turbo in some type of woven titanium to protect engine, wires, and hoses and pipes and such.

Your work looks beautiful. This is not a criticism. This is just me trying to troubleshoot.

Had it out for about 45 minutes and it ran like a champ. It is however leaking oil something fierce, hopefully it’s just the pan gasket.
