why ?Has anyone ever later put an ether start system into an M939? Or, for that matter, an 8.3 into an 809 series? I'd be curious to hear if the latter has ever been attempted, successfully that is.
250 is a way better motor IMHO.
ether is never a good thing for any diesel. I would go 4 strong batteries and a block heater as my first line of defense. Ether, last resort. I plug mine in and throw a jet heater under it for a few minutes on the rare occasions I drive it in the winter.
as far as CDl, see if your state has an antique /historical/classic car plate program. Then Gross weight becomes irrelevant but it will limit the use. Can't carry stuff with it. Usually need to write a letter to your state(in Ct anyway) commercial vehicle safety unit for a dot number exemption. Not a big deal as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes.
