My M936A1 is on Goodyears. Is there any particular reason why I might prefer Michelins vs. Goodyears if and when I single out my M923?

How much lift would I need to run the 49s on a 2.5 ton?

Use 11.00 on stock rims like i did:

So I could run them if I bobbed it than? The problem is they would rub with two axles in the back?

Yes, bobbers are fine with those tires and even bigger.

Distance between the centers of the rear axles is 48 inches, distance from the center of a 49 inch tire to the edge is 49/2 = 24 1/2 inches. Distance from the center of the other tire to its edge is also 24 1/2 inches. Add them together and you see that fitting 24 1/2 + 24 1/2 = 49 inches of tire into a 48 inch space is problematic.

Just to really mess things up, here's what my 5 ton looks like with Goodyear MV/T 395's These tires are about 3" smaller in diameter (46" vs 49"). But have the about the same width as the 14.00's. Just something to think about. The 395's are in an abundant supply as they are the main tires on the FMTV type vehicles.
