Although slow going, I made some progress on the hub flip friday. Hope to have more done this week. The write up on XM says "easy job with simple hand tools." Ha, bite me. Not a "hard" job, but you need more than simple hand tools.

You will be reversing the wheel, dish out then, correct.

Does the flange part of the hub fit inside the lip of the MRAP wheel?

Had the county Sheriff's Deputy perform the VIN verification on my last Deuce today. An AF 1987 M35A2C2. Last Gov. Liquidation M35 sale out of Warner Robbins. Going w/ Historic Vehicle plates.

After installing adapters for MRAP wheels, mounting tires...."murphys tire compound is worth its weight in gold" painting rims, flipped, cleaned, re-packed bearings, new seals, flipped studs. These tires were on my stock rims. So that added alot to the time...So two weekends of putzing around and can't be happier.

It's a four hour job in a fully equipped shop and being in your 30's or younger ! Otherwise it's a 10 to 14 hour job.

Got a visit from Mr. 98G and traded my MRAP tires, wheels, and adaptors for a set of pristine G177's on 5 ton rims and a few deuce wheels to complete my set I had. I always felt the 395s were too big for my taste, although they looked cool I missed the original look but wanted the improvement of radials. If you haven't dealt with John I'd highly recommend him, great guy to deal with.

Had some fun this weekend swapping them out...5 more to go!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures or video of it in action, but I managed to get my 5 ton stuck trying to impress the ladies, so I had to bring out the Deuce to play rescue; Needless to say 12k pulling out 22k is one impressive feat! It never skipped a beat

Those are some beautiful looking tires ! I totally agree with you about the 395's. They make the deuce look like a Tonka truck or in plain words a "Toy" ! But those G177's just look mean !

Thank you...not as nice as a cage, one day I'll weld me up one. But for now the DOT chain will at least prevent the ring from flying through my neighborhood while I stand behind a wall watching my gauge and taking a peek once in a while. I used to do truck tires to pay my rent in college, only had 2 blow on me while in a cage. I don't like taking chances with these!

Totally. Maybe someday on another truck, but trying to keep this one as nostalgic as possible yet still have an improvement over the NDTs. They have their place but it just didn't jive with me. And the steering was horrible at a dead stop!
