.G'day everyone,.....
Today I had a brain storm,....
Remember a while ago I went to see the guy near me who has the M185?
He also restores and has had a few International Army trucks, he's currently working on one.
It has a winch, these winches can be used at the front OR rear of the truck.
I came across one of these winches for sale and had the idea of fitting it to the rear of my Deuce.
The winch is made by Garwood and is rated at 20,000 lb.

Since my Deuce has the rear PTO still on it,....
See where this is going,.....
Thoughts?
Aussie.
It is definitely possible. Company that I used to work for long ago had front and back mounted winches. The ones mounted in the back were generally for operating Gin Poles. The winch in the front would hold the poles at the proper angle and rear mounted winch did the heavy lifting.
Link below has a rear mounted winch picture. along with the headache bar to lift over the side of the truck.
