I dropped my 1 remaining M39 series winch driveshaft off at the at the local heavy truck shop to be copied,at the tune of $438 each!

Plus I had to have the current one re yoked at the winch end,all in all,$1000 for 2 new driveshafts and 1 repair.

Next week is order 770 feet of 5/8 6 x 19 wire rope.

I opened up the crate with my cargo cover in it. Bad news. I need to take the box out of the back of the truck. It won't fit with the cover on. This should be fun.

I am thinking of taking the box out and just leaving the gun mount.

Well, you were already thinking about it, anyway.

Now you just had your mind made up for you.

It might be all good; you think?

Yeah it will be better in the long run. I drive it a couple of times a week. I only shoot out of it once in a great while. I can leave the gun mount in there with the cover on it. Maybe I will make a trailer with the box and the mount in it so I can tow it and shoot out of it.

And have room in the back of the truck for more goodies.

I pulled eight GSS frankencab seats out of the rear. Will be sending some leather covers for minor mending to keep them in good condition. Will also be rebuilding the existing seat mounting famework. Offroading is violent in the back and requires a much beefier design...

Have you got an extra-long bed, or is that just my eyes playing tricks on me?

It used to be a tractor and the first civy owner made a custom size bed from two duece beds. Pulled the spare tire stuff out too. The frame has been extended out the rear about 3'. Short wheel base with good size bed was his goal I believe.

If you ever need some help working on it let me know I can come over.
Thank you for your offer and I'm sure I'll take you up on it someday. Same here, let me know if you need a hand, another 5ton to bail you out of something, etc. Looking forward to the road trip in April!

I think you meant 2 M105 trailer beds.

You would probably know better than I would. The previous owner told me duece beds and I wouldn't recognize one from the other honestly. So I have a broken bow corner and need a replacement. Should I be looking at M105 bows then?

Yessir, you should be looking for an M105 bow corner (I believe the 3/4 ton M101 trailers use the same?). The deuce uses the same bow corners as the M809 series and M939 series 5-tons. It's flat and wide. Where the trailers use corners that are about the same width as they are thick.

M35, M813, M923/M925 etc truck bow corners:

M101 M105 trailer corners and bows:

None of the bow/side systems are sturdy enough to serve as protection in the event of a roll over.

Also, there's many differences but the visually easiest is that the M35 bed doesn't have wheel wells.

Yeah me either. I love going down there. I think I have a corner toy can have. I will check tomorrow.

Today I got the box moved to the back of the bed. Now I just need to get the tractor out and lift it out of there. Then I can finish putting the cover on.

Finally finished wiring all my LED work lights. I have a total of 10 lights around the truck. I have one in front of each forward mud flap, one behind each rear mud flap, two on the back and 4 pointing forward and to the side.

I plan on putting either a couple more on the bumper or getting a light bar and mounting it to the grill for some added forward lighting.
