Oh- I scored a jack for a good price. I'll pick it up on Monday.

I have roadside assistance and towing but I've never liked driving around without a jack and a spare. We got a great truck but it was practically naked and missing all the gubbin's. Rounding up all these bits takes time and patience.

Another nice day here in Northern VA. Got the Deep Water Fording Exhaust on. Had to get two bolts to hold the exhaust pipe to the side of the truck. These were not listed in the instructions. I used the same bolts as the 3 that hold the assy to the muffler.

Also had time to plumb the hose from the Sensor Cup into the engine bay and install the cup. Instructions don't seem to make sense, but as soon as you get under the truck it makes sense where the cup goes. The two holes under the A pillar are the give away. Also a 5mm camera (endoscope) showed the path in the A pillar is toward the front of the truck for routing the hose. Stay between the insulation and the outer part of the pillar. Tight fit but doable.

Looks like you did a great job!! Did you by chance install the fender support brace? The brace is designed to strengthen the fender when installing the Deep Water Exhaust. I believe I paid $115 on Ebay. I attached a pic with the brace installed from inside the fender.

Looks like you did a great job!! Did you by chance install the fender support brace? The brace is designed to strengthen the fender when installing the Deep Water Exhaust. I believe I paid $115 on Ebay. I attached a pic with the brace installed from inside the fender.
I see from some earlier pics that you do have the fender support brace installed. Great job!!

"LIGHT TACTICAL TRAILER"

I just picked up this 2002 "Silver Eagle" Light Tactical Flat Deck Trailer. It's in really great shape!! This came from Ft. Hood in Killeen Tx. It had a generator mounted on it. The Military removed the generator and sent it to the Mexico border to build the wall. The trailer was then released for sale. I ordered 3 sheets of "Marine Plywood". I am going to cut and install separate panels like the picture of the trailer shows. Now I have my "Home Depot" transport rig.

More fun with the Deep Water Fording kit. Installed the DWF Valve.

Then plumbed the lines to their respective homes. The red hose was not in the kit but is required to vent the Power Steering cover.

Don't confuse vent connection shown at the bottom of the last pic with the Fuel Vent Line on the back side of the expansion tank. This made my head hurt till I looked in the manual and realized one is the vent line and the other is part of the fuel system. RTFM - Read The Field Manual! Oh, and my bracket showed up as well.

"DAMAGED TRAILER"
When the military removed the generator from the trailer the operator hit the drivers side light box with the fork truck. This was the only damage to trailer at purchase. Repaired light box and all electrical. I was able to heat the aluminum and shape back into place. Came out good considering the damage. :)

Just need to do the CDR and dipsticks. Then silicone the electrical connections per the instructions.
BTW when trying to put the fuel tank vent onto the stack gravity yanked the screw outta my hand and put it in a place I aint never getting to again.

There it sits for the next owner to find. Having an endoscope is a handy tool. Here it proved I could just leave the screw.

I ordered some tires a few weeks back.

Went to go pick them up at the shipping company's dock on Friday.

Ended up being the wrong tires (I ordered MTR and received MT)

Called the seller, explained the situation.
He called me back 10 minutes later and confirmed it was their fault. Told me a new set would ship out on Monday.

Monday I got a new tracking number for the tires.
Tuesday he sent me an email saying it cost more than it was worth to ship them back, so I could keep the set already here.

Mistakes do happen, but he took care of it quickly and professionally, so when I need tires again I'll order more.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

I thought the MTR's had very thin sidewalls and were undesireable, at least for off-roading? Or was that just earlier generations of that tire?

Jeeze, if you were near me I'd buy those MT's from you.

Looks like only the 3.5 ton jack stows under the hood. I believe the under-seat straps for the jack are still present. I just don't want the jack to turn into a rusty pile of steel.

I also replaced my intermittent fuel gauge. The gauge was definitely faulty, not the sender. If I tap the dash, the gauge would read for a short while before falling to "E."

I'm looking at lug wrenches right now... are the lug nuts 7/8" or 22 or 23 mm?

That I'm not sure about. I know they had some blowout issues that seemed to be related to running them a little underinflated or something like that, and started scrapping any of them over 5 years old for safety reasons, but I don't recall hearing anything else.

I wanted the MTRs as winter tires, planning on getting the center bars siped for better traction. Bought them specifically for a snow trip I was supposed to go on next month, but got told Sunday that they decided my rig is actually too wide and won't be able to go through the route they have planned. Kind of a bummer, and I imagine I'd probably still be able to make the trail, but better to play it safe when on narrow trails in the mountains I guess.

The MTs will go on my rig for summer, replacing the slightly mismatched set I have right now (front two tires are off an H1 and sat in an enclosed trailer for over a dozen years, the rear two came off a DRASH trailer chassis I bought. Maybe 1/16th inch tread depth difference between them)

Lug nuts are 7/8ths.

Hood Reinforcement Panel (NSN: 2510-01-547-7220)

The hood was starting to flex with one man openings and armored grill. Really impressed with the build quality on this kit. Great fit and tons more structural rigidity. I've scanned and attached the instructions for the kit as well.

I did it to my hood even though I don't have the armored grill, and I love how much more rigid the hood is.
