Got a few things done this week.

I've been trying to find the AMG tie down decal for months now. It's been discontinued and the updated part number has spelling and graphic errors. I finally found a reproduction from Cold War Industries (shout out to Dave for high quality stuff!)

I also put a few other misc decals on.

The big deal though is the OEM Luverne brush guard (not a repro) I bought in Aug using a buddy I have that lived closer to avoid shipping. We finally got together for a few beers and the delivery! I cleaned it up, welded a few cracks in the mesh, fresh coat of paint and made up some bumper number plates.

I found the truck of my dream and have decided to clean the A2 to sell it. It’s been a fun couple days working with my kids to fix all the tiny little things that were in progress such as the headlights, fans for the AC that wouldn’t kick in, dead voltage regulator, etc.
The halo ring on the LED headlights glow orange by default and switch to white in high beam, a very nice effect.

Took it for a 25 mile ride. It was pretty much it's maiden voyage, and everything went smoothly. Shifts like butter, doesn't pull or wander, and the brakes will put you thru the windshield if you're not paying attention lol

Stock height M1165A1B3FK5 with no armor. Interco IROK Radial 39.5x13.5x16.5 tires installed. Used the Trailready PCV beadlocks and Centramatic Balancer rings. No weights or balancing needed. Runs down the road at 70+ MPH with no vibration and smooth as silk. I am really impressed by how smooth and quiet the tires are.

I installed the Black Dog License Plate Frame and Rhino Spare Tire Carrier this morning. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

My goodness that's a sharp looking truck!
Thanks! I have a bunch more parts to finish up and install. It will be much better once I install the new X-Doors and get some paint on it. I had all the services done at Southwest Military Customs, great guys to work with in the Phoenix area. Everything is running great and it is actually quite a bit quicker than the HMMWVs when I retired from the Marine Corps in 2005. Without the armor it feels responsive and light on takeoff and going down the freeway. The taller Interco tires really feel so much better then the BFGs. The BFGs were new but the new tires really brought the cruising RPMs down at freeway speeds.

The X doors with that rear curtain is the best look for these trucks in my opinion. That's what I'm going for with mine.

The new Interco tires are 39.5x13.5x16.5 but measure right at 40" with no weight on them. They are over 4" taller than the new BFG Baja 37" tires I took off. I dont think I could go any bigger without modifying the exhaust to clear, lol.

there is a flange on the exhaust pipe just inside the frame. A good kick or two to the exhaust pipe can shift the pipe forward for a little more clearance if you're worried about it.

Finally got new old tires and wheels. They are a very nice set other than one that the tire shop couldn’t do anything with. They said it needed another 20 ounces of weight in addition to what it had on it. I watched the wheel/ tire go from side to side on the machine. Other 3 were perfect. Guy said he thinks I have a bent wheel or out of round tire, possibly both. I contacted Feltz and I will see what they can do for me.View attachment 918903View attachment 918904View attachment 918905
Im betting those inside weights didnt make it 5 miles !! Not much clearance on the inside..
