I can't see where they have a leg to stand on with a M1009 as long as it's tagged, after all it's a Blazer with some military add ons and paint.

If your neighbor was able to quiet claim the land then you really did not own it and either there was a mistake in the paperwork or the realtor did not know what they were talking about.

Needs to talk to a surveyor. I suspect this is more about a land grab then it is about military vehicles. Truth is, law says if you live on a property, and put a clothesline across the neighbors yard adjoining yours, you can make a claim on that property where your "improvement" is after a period of about seven years. Varies in different states, but law is always funny when you get into these things. And the point of all this hoopla is, get your stuff off that property else you might be able to claim it as well.
He getting some free property is a whole lot more important then anything in particular sitting on it, but the longer you leave it there, the more difficult the battle he might have to fight in order to make a legal claim on it. And since he beat you to it, it is going to cost you nothing but money to get anything you might want out of it at this point. He has the upper hand. I would be careful where you go with this one at this point. It could cost you a whole lot more then a MV displacement.
Realtors are not responsible for accuracy in property lines or disputes. Nor are they liable. They just sell property. They don't have to define the exacting lines, and often sell property without known boundaries. It is the responsibility of the buyer and his finance institution to define the lines accurately as to what they are buying and what they own. Even the seller does not have to define the exacting lines. I've known people who purchased a new house built half on someone elses property. OUCH!

Don't get mad, get even. I have a Bell 206BIII Jet Ranger and live in a nice neighborhood in a private community. My house is at the edge of the subdivision and it ends with my back yard. I got crap from the HOA because I landed in the street Safely) in front of my house for about 3 minutes to pick up my wife instead of her driving to the airport 40 minutes away and to fly her to Gainsville GA for a family emergency. Got letters and phone calls. Purchase the 3 acres behind my home (Not in the sub division) and registered it as a Heliport. Now I fly in and out anytime I want. And I fly very slowly past the guy's house down the street who filed the complaint. He went bonkers and called the city. They told him TL. He has every right to land and take off anytime. Its an airport. Result, he moved, not us.

I would love to live in the middle of no where , but it's not feasible at this time, I think he did it to free the space of what he sees as clutter and camo vehicles , I've seen him scrub oil spots off his driveway in the middle of a storm! I don't know if he thought it through or not.I'm just going to park them in the front yard so he can see them better, and paint a FU on the windows since I love Florida university lol and pink flamingoes lol .i was using the property for a garden and to store and work on the trucks, commenting on a prior post of if I improved the land, he plans to scalp it and plant bushes he says, which is going to get rid of what is keeping the water from washing away all the dirt at the top of the hill and flooding me.

I was grandfathered in with my RV where I used to live. A developer built next door, moved in (sort of) and became Head of the HO association. I got "The Letter". My lawer told me it ould take years to fight, beau-coupe bucks and I would have to remove the vehicle while I fought. After I moved the RV the developer sold "his house" and developed the rest of the area. He had all day to fight me and could recoup all expenses in house sales.

I would find the ugliest el cheapo vehicle I could find. Tag it and insure it then paint it a varity of flourescent colors in a camo pattern and maybe add on of those spinning roof vents and park it out front as close to the offending neighbor as possible. The way I see these things, the neighbor thinks the camo truck is bad? I find the need to show him it can be worse.
I had a an OD Jeep towed by the assn where I lived. HOA rules said anything deemed and eyesore could be towed. Sadly for them, I worked part time for the tow company they contracted with. They towed it back a few hours later. At that point I'd had enough fun. Now I live in an area zoned residential/ agricultural.

Its a sad fact in a lot of states like I live in most yuppies whether living in one of their sanitized new subdivisions living what I call their (canned) life where everything is the same everyone has the same landscaper cut their lawn they all drive their BMW or huge SUV or other vehicle deemed OK are the big problem. They move out to the so called country by the droves to escape each other pretty soon their mad because its not country anymore around them start running for elected offices in the towns and countys they get in and start rewriting laws to make everything (right) squeezing people like us out because we wont or dont live their idea of a canned life and are seen as the enemy a good example of this is whats happened in washington in the last few years.

Get a 55 gallon drum with a tight closing lid - go to the butcher shop and get scrap pieces of meat - fill the container about half full of water and clamp the lid on - stick it in the SUN - when the wind blows your neighbors way pull the lid (be wearing your gas mask). Stick lid back on when the wind decides to change. When the full barrel has changed to all maggots - feed the wildlife - bears love live rice.

The part about the neighbor claiming the land.... Do you have a mortgage? If so the mortgage company/financial institution would be interested if the land they have the mortgage on is now smaller in size. Is there a title policy? if so, what does it state on it's legal description of the property? The legal description gets down to the brass tacks of the perimeter and size of the property. Just things for you to think about, maybe it will help you. The county should have a parcel map of your property too, in their records of what they are taxing.

Interesting , my wife and I were in the Cleveland area looking to buy a new place , nice to know BEFORE we buy . WOW . I did MENTION to the agent that I have a VEHICLE HOBBY that might not work in a HOA area . She asked what kind of cars I had , I just said they were a LITTLE bigger than a car ! LOL

My bride is wise in many things, but has never experienced the evil that HOAs do. So she used to be a little bemused at my adamant determination to not live under an HOA covenant, and ideally to be outside of as many zoning ordinances as possible.
Mind you, we don't have any of the big green things that most of you guys have (well, not yet, anyway) but we do have a few other mechanically interesting things around that nosy neighbors probably wouldn't like.
As we do things around our property, I remind her that 'this would be illegal in town' or 'we'd have to get an inspection to do this' or 'We'd have to get a licensed [trade] in for that job if we were in town.' Coupled with horror stories from here and my vintage car friends, she is beginning to understand that laws that protect the foolish from themselves also often prevent the self-reliant from getting on with things.
It's a basically different way of looking at the world. And I think that the problems that people like us have with HOAs comes down more to the difference in outlook of the neighbors than it does to the rules themselves.

I was at the state auction lot last year and they had two OH-58's (Army Jet Rangers) for $500 each. But, they would only sell to a Municipality or a police dept. They were in good condition from the Alabama NG. Weird how they give away equipment but charge civilians a ton of money for the same thing.
