Send for my MKT-USB drive, which has the Ft. Lee booklet on how to open it up and close it down, along with another six or so GIGS of PDF files related to the MKT's. You send me a USB drive of at least 5 GB capacity, and I'll do my best to fill it and return to you. Start a conversation with me for the address info. From the pic it looks like it has the nylon side carry covers, but a vinyl front carry cover. Nylon rots in the sun in 3-5 years, while vinyl will usually outlast the thread it's sewn with, and can be re-stiched.

Looks like it's been sitting for a while. Take some extra long straps or rope and wrap around it. Those nylon side covers will disinigrate while you're driving down the road and it'll look like a flapping ghost trailing you home. Get Mike's flash drive info and you'll be set to at least get going. We definitely need pics once you open it up to see what is (or isn't) in there.

Alternative uses as trailer or is your goal to keep it kitchen? One mod I like is Bolster wheels with hummmer tires.

A few things on recovering it. The transport covers on that trailer are not road worthy. Bring some shrink wrap and wrap the whole trailer, then add some tape over that. The sides are trash, the front vinyl as Mike has posted maybe good with bad thread. No reason to destroy good vinyl if possible. If you are going to trailer it behind something bring an extra 9x20 tire or two just in case. And a jack and tire changing tools. It wouldn’t hurt to have a spare light set if the trailer lights are inoperative.

If you are going to place it on a transport trailer, I would still wrap the trailer in shrink wrap.

Some of these sold during the GL days at Camp Shelby complete with generator, fuel and water cans, plus all the kitchen goodies. There can be a cool amount of gear, boarding ladders , cambro warmers and dispensers.

Pandaroa's box awaits you.

I got one of those with the generator. The trailer was sold several years ago but I still have the gennie in the shop.

Looking forward to seeing what's inside your treasure box! If you do go the kitchen rout and need Cambro boxes or liquid containers, I have a ton of spares. Also have a few spare MBU's, utensils and many other items (although no spare griddle screens). I have a friend that lives nearby so I may be going to visit him soon and could bring stuff up to your neck of the woods. I just recently finished building mine back to about 95 percent of what it was new. They are lots of fun!

Looking at the picture have some heavy duty duct/gorilla tape to secure the roof vents or secure them from the inside. With them being open they can catch wind going down the HWY and twist of, I found out the hard way when I had mine.

I hope to retrieve it with my Deuce. I do have some shrink wrap, I will throw it in. I am looking forward to seeing what is left inside.
A highlift jack (or something similar) may be helpful getting that trailer on your Deuce’s pintle hitch. My friend (who has 395’s on his Deuce) needed the highlift jack when he recovered his MKT. The jack stand on the trailer wasn’t tall enough (especially if it has sunk in the ground).

FlyFishTrailer Thank you! I will keep you in mind. I was in your area last week. I picked up some parts for my 1/4 jeep trailer in Central Point Or. After that I drove over to Crescent City, Ca and took 101 all the way back home. Its been over 35 years sense I was in that part of Ca. What a Beautiful drive!!!

Thanks about the vents!! Could it be lowered from the outside? My deuce has the 900x20's still on it. Thanks for the advice about the high lift jack. I will definitely throw one in. Its located in a VA Hospital so I am hoping it will be fairly complete.

The vents are lowered using a pole that slides into a cranking mechanism similar to a house window that cranks. There's no way (that I know of) to do it from outside the trailer and it takes a lot to get to the inside of the trailer to do it while all of the gear is there (and the walkway is folded up, and the travel covers are on, etc, etc).

I will be taking back roads all the way home, I don't think I will be going over 45 mph. Would that be OK? I was also thinking about putting a tarp over the top to get it home.
