Been stock piling parts, got more stuff on the way. Wanted to do some maintenance & repair a few things to the truck before the summer.

finally got my 395 swapped from when i got t-boned a while back and the rr had a 6" hole torn in the sidewall, it was as big of a pain as i expected, the face came off easily with a high lift jack, did it that way once before to change a o-ring, using 2 crowbars get it up enough to slide in something for the jack to sit on and go for it.
the real drag was the back bead, it laughed at my bobcat and a 12# splitting maul standing in for a duckbill sledge, took it to work and made just enough headway with the bead breaker on the tire machine to lube it up and work it off with prybars a fraction of a inch at a time.
a spare brake drum for my dodge dually made a perfect stand to lay the wheel face down on to keep the studs off the ground

I got fifteen wheels for my M35 for $100.
Four of them are like brand new.

I have gathered together all the o-rings, and the button retainer clip for the hydraulic head.
I will be starting that "rite-of-passage" procedure in the next few days.

Fitted a 'what you see is what you actually have' water temperature gauge in the M45 530C. Then For the upcoming season, Two new 110 CCA batteries. Sprayed on the new 'registration Numbers' (well, old ones I liked better from a scrap truck. MIL - 6- 344. (yeah' I know but..).

DSCF1879.jpg I changed out the drivers side dust boot today. The zipper was seized so I had to cut it off. Will change the passenger side tomorrow before the bad weather moves in.

played around with my spare little now that it's not holding the truck up anymore, weighs 340# with aluminum rim and tire worn to the bars vs 430# for steel rim and new tire, same adapter and beadlock insert.
shoved it under the truck and winched it up into the pocket and with a adapter to secure the wheel assy to the winch like the original and some trimming of the toolbox mount it outta be in business, cleared the driveline brake by 1/2" and plenty of space from driveshaft even with no adjustments

I bought these great lights from jcappeljr. I needed reverse lights and these look great and they are overbuilt.
Was able to use existing holes in the crossmember to mount. I was going to power these from a toggle that I'd wire from the dash.
A bit of research and looking around the truck and I was happy to find a reverse light circuit that is activated when the engine is running
and the trans in reverse. The wire(s) had been cut when the past owner installed a trailer harness but I was able to find the right cut
wire.
Ordred some Packard connectors tonight (Big Mikes)
Love the truck.

Your lucky someone put in a reverse switch for you. They don't come with them from the military. Since you have a "bobber" I'm sure there are many mods already performed on your truck.
Also those lights have high/low bulbs in them. The two connectors in the back of the lamp are positive inputs. It grounds through the mounting rod/bolt .

A3's did come with reverse lights. I think Rusty assumed it was an A2, which did not.

None of the 3 trucks here have them, could you put up a pic of where they mount? I would like to add them but want to do it right.
On my M35A2 I put those rubber bump stops on the bumperetts so they wouldn't interfere or rub on the cargo cover. I *REALLY* like having them. They are one of my favorite practical mods. (I believe they're also used as rear cab supports.)

I bought mine, new, for $3 each from Eastern Surplus back in 2015. I now see them for nearly $35 each on Big Mike's Motor Pool and only a "Call for Price" on Eastern. I'd say either they are getting harder to find or some vendors figured out items worth making (a lot of) money from.

Search either of the following numbers on eBay and you may find them cheaper:
