New Supercharged and Intercooled HMMWV kits!

Trust me, we looked long and hard. The only better option than what we use was a custom fitting which just tooling up for was cost prohibitive in the volume we sell.

New Supercharged and Intercooled HMMWV kits!

You are not wrong. We make many of the parts in our kits but not all of them. Since the 'T' is only used in the the HMMWV kit and none of the others it was decided not to invest in a one off piece and use existing military grade fittings. This of course means there are some limitations on the...

New Supercharged and Intercooled HMMWV kits!

From time to time we do offer Steel Soldiers only discounts. Right now we are working to keep prices from going up despite raw materials being 30%-50% higher and harder to come by. I don't see any discounts anytime soon with the current climate.

New Supercharged and Intercooled HMMWV kits!

Paradox by Design is nearing completion on our supercharger kits for HMMWVs. We are developing this in conjunction with the supercharger manufacturer in order to balance the performance needs and maintain absolute reliability all the while. These are modern positive displacement superchargers...

New parts for our CUCV kits!

As we have continued selling our CUCV and Civilian 6.2 Chevy/GMC cooling upgrade kits we have started to see some supply issues. The most obvious shortage is with rear sensor plates. We have used the same plate that came from GM and GEP that has the opening for the rear sensor. GM ran out and so...

    BAE Heater Blower System

If you get a good deal on a used one and the motor is shot you can get that part easily but the fan housing is what you are missing.

    BAE Heater Blower System

So normally the fan motor seizes up due to dirt blocking the blades so the motor is sold separately but the squirrel cage part is required and it looks like you are missing that. So I think you may need to get the entire heater core and blower assembly. 01-190-7079

    BAE Heater Blower System

That is not the correct fan for that 998. That is the blower for the A/C system. You will be fabricating to make it all work, or just buy a correct fan. The correct fan has a round tube outlet, not square.

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

Notice how these almost always fail in the back? These engines overheat at the back due to the way the coolant flows internally. You need a balance kit to keep the temps in check so these failures stop happening. Here is what the CUCV kit looks like...

    Temperature Gauge question

Guys, these temperatures are all normal. Remember that these diesels need heat to achieve full burn of the air/diesel mixture. Dont fight to drop the overall system temps. That being said though these engines have a LONG history of overheating at the back of the blocks around cylinders #7 and...

    What did you say?

A lot of states will not allow headsets while driving as a function of safety. Heat/Sound proofing materials (Dynamat or similar) will change your HMMWV from a rattle box to a half way decent ride. We do that here as standard operating procedure!

    How to keep her cool?

As the LS engines developed they altered the casting of the coolant passages to accommodate better balance of coolant flow within the block. Most European engine designs have been doing this for years. Things are getting better for V8s as development continues. Our kits create a flow path where...

    How to keep her cool?

I was not trying to be condescending but instead offering a link to more information so that anyone who wants to learn more can do so. This is a complicated subject to understand fully and had it not been for our motorsports engineering background, we would not have undertook this project. Why...

    How to keep her cool?

I know that the science is not always easy to follow so here is another way to look at this. GM and later GEP continuously worked on this rear engine overheating issue over the life of the 6.2 and 6.5 engines. First they changed the crossover design, then they added a dual thermostat housing...

    How to keep her cool?

Coolant flows up and out of the heads at the front. The rear of the block has little flow compared to the front. By drawing coolant at the back you create flow where there was little before. We do not claim our kit reduces system temperature at all, however it does balance the temps front to...

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

Just remember surface temps are not internal temps. The only way to get really accurate numbers is to install temp sensors in the coolant passages. I assure you that the rear of these blocks run VERY hot. Simply dropping system temperature will NOT change that. In fact by lowering the temps...

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

GM and later GEP added bandaid over bandaid to fix the uneven coolant temps in these engines. The different pumps, dual thermostats, military geared fans vs hydraulic fans all were tried. My favorite is when they finally gave up and over bored only the rear #7 and #8 cylinders so the overheating...

    Bleeding Coolant in 6.5

Just follow the instructions in the kit for bleeding. The Paradox kit self bleeds your system constantly.
