Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2017 - Feburary VOTE HERE!

Some of they guys here have done "ground up" restorations. I can't claim that, and admittedly my truck was running & driving when I bought it. However, I have had to do some work on it. Fan clutch solenoid. (a side note here, I finally got around to a system test by pulling fuse CB-22 this past...

    Fire Dept Hmmwv

That's a nice rig. I'm personally not partial to the helmet hard top. However, I see the utility for a FD application. Post some more pics when you get the emergency lights operational! :recovry4x4:

NEW guy from Georgia with a HMMWV - 1987

Nice rig. Have you started to paint it, or is that the way it came? Some of the camo looks less faded than the rest.

    TNriverjet's M1078 Thread

Yes, I went there, but my local NAPA had a mess for their air fitting parts storage. They even let me back there to rummage. I spent 30 min and could not find anything to work. I finally found the right combination of hardware and got it all hooked up.

    TNriverjet's M1078 Thread

So far, it is much better. There is no moisture purging from the tanks when I open the drain valves. We haven't had cold enough weather to find out if the brakes freeze, but I'm 95% sure the problem is fixed. I was getting water out the purge valves all the time with the finned tube version of...

Replaced the brake system drier, now no pressure at gauges

I kind of like the old style explosive release better... It made the cat jump more than the new one. :D The new style drier works much better though.

    Wheelspinner's M1078

Sounds like a real productive day! You accomplished more than I did. I painted the fading wiper arms and took it for a spin to top off the diesel tank.
