They do have a cooler its under the radiator and looks like a big air tank thingy with both coolant and the trans lines going to it. I also read about pulling the return line for the cooler at the trans but the big issue is the volume of fluid in an LMTV, the fill port is way up beside the cab...
I rescued my 4 LMTV batteries, two of which had ZERO water in them with my Genius 12/24v 7.5A charger. It can do AGM as well as LiPo and traditional batteries. Has a recovery mode I used on each individual battery once they were topped off with water and they have been going good since October...
I had no idea there were 110v BA15 base light bulbs out in the world. Look just like 1157 car bulbs but even pins and 110 volts NOT 24! Don't ask me how I figured it out...
Anyway, these are commonly (apparently) found in household appliances like sewing machines and vacuum cleaners. Picked...
Plan A is to tap off the 12v source stud on the left side of the power distro panel and install an aux very small fuse box to run the box.
I am already using the 12v spare supply wires under the panel for a 12v outlet I drilled into the lower cover. Interesting note on that. There are two 12v...
Any interest in a military vehicle get together and hang out when the weather warms up in say April timeframe in Missouri?
I am just outside Wentzville, West of St. Louis.
Thanks!

Have not installed it yet or ran wiring but wanted to share a pic of my custom switch pod for the LMTV.
The case is the standard LMTV switch box that comes with switch holes. I found out quickly that the standard switch holes are too big for the fun 12v switches you can buy everywhere online...
The ride is MUCH BETTER with the cab air springs engaged (on) and working. When I first got my LMTV I didn't have them inflated and driving down the road made it seem really squirmy on the road.
It seems like, on my LMTV anyway, that after shutdown, maybe 3 or 4 minutes, the cab lowers back...
thanks Suprman! Updated the original post to identify the old filter is the one pictured on the ground with the filter attached to the cover and pic of them pulled apart. You can also see the condition of the old O-rings in those two pics. Both filters looked very clean. I was happy when I...
Did the switch from the 15w40 engine oil in the transmission on my 1997 M1078 LMTV with WTEC II to ATF.
Followed "8-9 Transmission Oil Filter Replacement" procedure found in TM 9-2320-365-20-3 page 8-32. However, I deviated from the procedure and did NOT remove the front driveshaft (WARNING...
quarkz, ah ok LOL. Gotcha!
OK, Round 1 of cleanup/cleanout pic. I removed all the racks and the back conduit thingies and did some light vacuuming. Jerry can is to show scale. I may leave the bottom storage containers you see in the pics for gear. The ones on the right are just sitting in...
quarkz, I spent last weekend pulling out all the racks and doing some cleaning. Funny you should mention the space difference from the HSTRU camper I built... After I pulled out the racks I was sitting in the shelter thinking WOW this thing won't take anywhere near the effort and time to make...
It is an S250 it may look smaller with the smaller tires on the M1102. They are not quite 6" less in diameter than the stock 37's. Trailer sits about 2.5" lower. Which is the exact look I was going for.
Interior pics before any work is done.
Going to leave the cool folding table and the power distribution center. I rigged up a reverse electrical cord, plugged it in and all the lights work great. checked all the outlets with an outlet test thingy.
Finally received the title from GP for the M1102 and got it titled and registered... by the way military vehicle and trailer registration in Missouri is a REAL PAIN!
Just went and picked up an S250 from HMMWV Nut (had a great time checking out the other stuff he has for sale and talking with...
No huge issues with rain. The Foxwing can be adjusted at each leg for height so during rain I can pitch it any way I like. I am probably going to switch to a higher bracket for the new ARB awning since it sits kind of low for heavy rain.
Ah so you can install a 12v relay in an unused spot... perfect for adding stuff switched to the main power switch. I am also planning on adding a couple of things off the live 12v stud so there is always power without using the master switch like work lights.
Thanks Suprman.
