    Tie rod ends too tight?!

I wonder if they gave you the wrong length/height castle nut?

    Rolling Coal

Crank the fuel up. Or... Install a 12V and really let it rip!

New humvee owner in New Hampshire

Congratulation's! There's plenty of Humvees registered in NH. You should be fine.

    Diff failure and rebuild

Well, at least you were having fun while breaking parts! It's nice seeing a Humvee being worked hard, even if parts break. Where were you wheeling in southern MA? Is it a public place? I've been looking for places to go.

    HMMWV Maaco Paint?

Maaco will do a good job if you prep the vehicle yourself. I've seen some Maaco jobs done on some high dollar classic cars, and you would've never guessed it was done by them. I say go for it if the price is right!

Military HMMWV Vs Civilian Hummer H1

1981 was the mandated year for 17 digit VIN's, but before that no vehicle had VIN's that long. They were all 13, with some variation around that number. The short digits on these trucks will confuse the low IQ of DMV workers, but most will just punch it in and run with it.

    Cape Cod HMMWV

There's a guy selling Humvees down on the south shore, but I don't think he's down the cape.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Gonna do LS swap - 6.2 is fixin to throw a rod.

LS swaps are not complicated at all. Certain vehicles will have their troubles, but they're all easy enough to overcome. For a Humvee, lets start at the motor mounts. 1. In the civilian market, a 350 SBC powered H1 was offered. I would grab a set of frame side motor mounts for a 350 H1...

Problem installing spacer on with socket

Ahh, I see. What I said still applies. I would take a set of calipers if you have them, and measure the sockets at the store for thickness. You should be able to find one that's skinny enough to fit in the spacers. Btw, I hope those spacers are beefy pieces.

Problem installing spacer on with socket

I assume you're going with an aftermarket wheel, and the back spacing is making the wheel sit too far inside the wheel opening, making the truck look funny, and probably hitting every suspension component in sight. I would try one of those thin walled sockets. If you have a set of calipers...

Military HMMWV Vs Civilian Hummer H1

This thread has provided some entertainment. Bottom line, if you're able to register them, then you're all set. If the state you live in is a nanny state, you're screwed.

Jesus! That's some dark stuff! No wonder it looks so good ;)

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Right? I didn't see anything that would leave me to believe he was trying to steal valor. No rank or markings of any sort kinda gives it away. I actually had a someone in the Army give me ACUs that he had worn over in Iraq. He said he didn't want them, as he had several. He never batted an eye...

The tint looks great! Is it 20%?

MV of the month February RUN OFF

Really tough decision. Both are beautiful trucks!

    Any Missouri owners here?

The short VIN shouldn't give you any problems, especially if the truck already has a clean title from another state. It really depends who you deal with at the DMV. If you get one of those rude ladies, who want nothing more than to screw with you, then you're in for it. Overall, you should be...

Anyone have experience with John Johnson Company?

Eh, Military Grade just means it was built by the lowest bidder :p

    Just another hmmwv build thread.

Looks really good! Aint nothing wrong with being a Jeep guy! I like all brands of vehicles, and their various subcultures.
