    Motor swaps

You could buy a stand alone harness already completed, but it cost less than $20 to make your own.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

    That looks really good!

    Motor swaps

Super super super easy to make them run stand alone. I simply take the stock engine harness out of the donor truck, remove all the wires that are not needed for a stand alone setup, and build my own fuse box. Usually I run 4 fuses, and two relays. Super easy to do, with all the info ever needed...

    It really does!

    Motor swaps

That be super easy to do. The TH400 will bolt right up to the 5.3. The only thing required to mate the two is a adaptor that bolts to the flexplate, to help support the snout of the torque converter. Going with the older trans means you can keep the stock driveshafts, which is nice.

    Motor swaps

Should be easy enough. You could also get a universal motor made for a hotrod. A lot of them use a motor mounted to the windshield frame, and come in a variety of sizes. Might as well put a sail on it too.

    Motor swaps

I haven't done the swap on a Humvee yet, I'm just supplying info on the swap itself. If I had to guess, you could rob the wiper motor out of a H1?

    Motor swaps

Just switch everything over to conventional 12v stuff. For the LS swaps I've done, I always use a Walbro fuel pump mounted to the frame rail, with a Corvette style fuel pressure regulator. This sets the fuel pressure to the correct PSI, and also eliminates the need for a return line at the fuel...

"Iron Curtain" for my Humvee ? Reviews ? Options ?

I always thought the way the window sticks out like that looked a little funny. That said, having a solid back curtain sure would be nice.

    Motor swaps

I was gonna suggest an LS, but I figured OP wanted to stay diesel. If gas is an option, an LS is the way to go. Get one cheap, and bolt it in. You can use the engine mounts for a 350 powered H1, with LS adaptors. You could also keep the factory TH400, or switch to a 4L60E/4L80E. If you could...

    Winterization/arctic kit

I'm curious about them too. Do they provide a substantial improvement over the standard top/doors?

Looks great! I know shiny bolts aren't mil-spec, but I like the look.

    Motor swaps

You can put anything you want in it, if you have a grinder, welder, and a big enough hammer! I'd say go for it! The IDI is a good engine, and certainly is a workhorse as stated above. I'm sure you'll get the purists all worked up in the process, which in and of itself will be worth it lol

What I did for a stereo in my hmmwv

They look great! I bet that system sounds good turned up! Are those two 12's?

What I did for a stereo in my hmmwv

I like the sound bars on the roof! Reminds me of a Jeep.

I don't know, I mean if you keep getting a different answer every time you talk to them, that would make me believe their heads are somewhere they don't belong. Anyways, good luck OP. It'll be worth it in the end, regardless of what plates you end up with.

I'd just register it as a normal vehicle and be done with it. It clearly sounds like the DMV in your state has their heads firmly planted in between their legs.

Buying a HEMTT across the country

It be pretty cool seeing some more HEMTTs around MA! That thing would be pretty tight navigating around in Wakefield!
