RKrug, You are more than welcome! I know what is like to trying to beat the clock like that. I am already scheming for time off to make sure that I get there, and, hopefully, with my family.
I think that the plate is original, as it looks as abused as the rest of the truck. I am still needing to find a frame stamping to confirm. I will have that next weekend. I agree that it is possible that the winch was added at some point, just as the engine is a LDT-465-1 with a turbo, block...
Went to the KAMO this past weekend and ended up bringing back a "goody bag" of stuff for my Deuce- NOS Tow BAr (the BIG one), a full set of NOS (fiberglass) racks and rails for a yet-to-be found cargo cover, a couple of extra fuel can holders, and other assorted stuff and a stop-by to make a...
And, once again, SS saves me from a possible major headache with a long, but, VERY usefull thread. A BIG thank you to Rustystud, CattleRepairMan and others for the time, money and effort involved here.
Okay. Just to throw up a "Hold IT!" moment, my truck has the following listed- 0525-17XXX for the information in the tag spot. It HAS a winch, to boot. So, I guess that the contract number is larger, and maybe, a little bit odder than is held to be "known"? Also, the manufacturer info is NOT...
Thanks to all the useful contributors in this thread. I am getting ready to start replacing all of the brake and fuel lines on my Deuce, so, this discussion is quite helpful, even if it has a moment of "disagreement'.
And a BIG thanks to Matt, for the invite to begin with! I also want to say "Thanks" to the guys that brought some extra gear that I ended up dragging home for my truck. (Man, that Tow Bar is heavy!)
Thanks to everyone for putting up with me and the "Light Urban Recon" Cherokee! I had a really good time and am looking forward to next year, hopefully driving my Deuce. Long trip of almost 700 miles one way, but, it was worth it! My family is kind of jealous, but, the kids understand that they...
This is true, sadly. I miss being able to go to DRMO and get stuff as well. Ah, well. Hopefully, I can get some of the more common "up keep" items stocked up/stashed, come Springtime.
This figures. I am wanting to get the Overdrive unit, but, I have to wait until I have the Deuce paid for. (hopefully, Feb) Once again, I am too late to the dance.
Quick question- ANYBODY happen to have or know where (without killing my wallet) to get a Passenger side seat for a Deuce? Doesn't have to have cushions, just a useable frame would be GREAT!
Well, THAT is definitely a MAJOR improvement over the old ones. Pretty sure that I would NOT be happy about reaching into a void space and finding out that they had tails on them, though.
Nah, not this trip... it's going back home to KY. I had my fill of flat dusty land when I lived in Lubbock, Odessa-Midland, San Angelo and south of San Antonio (home- where I grew up).
Looking like simply me, a loaner Cherokee and a small flatbed trailer. Everything else around here has decided to go on strike and either quit running, break something important (radiator tank), blow out/ loose brakes and can't get new calipers (75 F250 CrewCab) or otherwise stop being...
Jjwright, that looks like mine, all right. It's just weird seeing a vent line like that, in what looks like it should be a pressure line. Thanks for following up!
I don't think that the picture is showing the line very well. The line in question is coming OUT of an actual brake line that has fluid in it. The M/C has an extended vent line up to the firewall, coming from the opening in the M/C cap that HAD an elbow in it. I simply ran a soft line up the...
