YEP!!!!! Looking like about 2-3 will be left after I claim mine. I will be going back there on Saturday with my 17 yr old son to pull them off of the selves and inventory them. Pictures will be taken and posted up, of course.
Went to work at the surplus store where my Deuce is sitting, and got to dig around in the 35,000 sq/ft (!) warehouse. Found some NOS 7" aux lights that have high/low beam, and are designed to be hard mounted in a fixed direction. I will try to remember to get some pictures of them and post them...
I'm going to try and find some different shackles, actually. I got a job offer of part time work at the Surplus Store where my Deuce is actually in Lay-A-Way. I will *happily* accept that job offer! SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!
I received my tow bar feet in the mail a few days ago (Shout out to Castle Bravo), and spent the last couple of days working on "re-sizing" the shackles to the proper "space" between the ears so that the keeper pins will fit through them. WOW. It's been entertaining trying to "persuade" those...
What diameter are the large holes, Fatalid? I've got a rather extensive collection of shell casings in different calibers that I use for hole punches, including a few 20m/m and .50 cal. You get perfectly round holes everytime. No muss, no fuss.
Don't be so quick there, Rustystud. My Korean wife of almost 29 years calls both HER Honda CR-V and my Geo Tracker Rice-burners. She does, however, less-fondly refer to my 1975 F250 CrewCab with a swapped in 6.9 idi as "the drool happy slobber monster." Goes with the territory, I guess.
Stopped by where my truck is at and did some (MOST likely needed) PM on it. It actually is parked so that every single grease fitting on the driveshafts was reachable. Bet THAT won't ever happen again! Also fired it up for the first time in a couple of months, did some trouble shooting on the...
I built an old CJ series Jeep like that- drove the folks at the parts house crazy! You had Jeep, GM, International Harvester, Ford, Willys, and some Mazda thrown in there for good measure. Ran like a scalded dog, though!
I think that Parker Hydraulic has them, or Grainger. I was looking at a thread the other day in the mech upgrades forum, and, i stumbled into a thread about fuel lines and fittings. I wish that I could help more.
Interesting. My tow bar is the round style. Came with all of the pins, but, no chains or feet. Off to search for those (feet, any way. I am NOT buying chain online. The shipping would be mental.)
And, another well timed thread makes its' appearance here. Thanks, frank8003 for bringing this info up. Welcome, 603hellmutt, as well. Enjoy getting to know your truck, and yourself, better. I know that I have.
Question. Why not mount the alternator BEHIND the adjustment bracket, so that you have more space between the fan and pulley? Space the pulley forward, and the nut/shaft would be farther away from the fan, yes? Is the mounting ear next to the engine block not able to be mount like that? My Gen...
