Welcome, fellow Kentuckian! Good to hear about you getting your truck up and going. I am about a 1/2 hour East of Lexington, for what that is worth.Mine is still being sorted out, including the brakes. Which of the 2 seals are mis-located in the TM?
Are you asking about a "bracket" that looks like a vertical piece of pipe, or a bracket that is "folded" over with "ears" at each end with holes through the "ears"(on both sides of the cab)? My truck has these still on it from the days of being "gas powered" with a much simpler and smaller...
I got my new gauge panel "spider" harness in today from Eastern Surplus. The Deuce may not need electrical power to run, but I need it to be better able to keep an eye on what she is up to. Oh, yeah. I found this 13 Ton WLL snatch block at a local pawnshop. Any idea if it is "correct" for my...
Well, I started bringing stuff home for the Deuce today-2 of the plastic bodied wiper motors, NOS, a "sugar scoop" that needs the stand off for a Deuce (anybody have an extra, by chance?) a lug nut tool that fits BOTH styles of lugs, and what appears to be an actual spindle nut socket tool...
@Hammer. Would care to explain how this would work better for the engine, as opposed to the stack style exhaust? Both of my Semis' were "stack" trucks, so, I am not seeing how this would be a benefit? Thanks
Excellent save, sir! I would look at cleaning out the housing with some brake cleaner and see what it looks like from there. I believe that if everything looks still sealed, and moves without sticking, that you should probably be all right. My Deuce had been sitting under a fir tree for 3-4...
@Rustystud. I hear ya' on that! I have always had a bit of a, um, mechanical addiction, even the junkyard that I worked in was bad for paychecks. I have 35,000 sq ft of warehouse, 7 53' semi trailers, 2 53' CONEX boxes. plus stuff sitting out in the yard to dig through. Sadly, most of the MV...
I put a BUNCH of stuff on lay -a-way/ hold at work for my baby- used, but very good windshields (all 3) both heater kits, a 15 ft long (?/!) green bed cover, 4 sets of Dessert Tan mirrors-NIB, a pair of NOS worklights (the kind that have the switch on the back, along with a wrap around type...
Hmm. Not a bad fix, but, around some "questionable" areas, it wouldn't do much. Have you seen the "tab sticking through the box cover" style of lock mount? I saw one on the junk M54m2 at work the other day, and thought that it was a normal thing, and mine was simply missing. i am going to be...
Good to see that you are still around, HanksDeuce! My son and I have found your website and have been going through/over it. Very informative, well laid out on the detail work. Thank you for the time and labor that you have put in on your wonderful truck and sharing it with everyone. We are...
Wow. That poor winch has had a number done on it, that's for certain! Good to know that you got it fixed. I still need to get the rest of the mounting bolts for mine and go from there....
Did. Thank you for this.
Also found 3 VERY nice windshield frames with god glass, from an M37. These fit the M35, according to my research, so, they will all be going home with me. Nice price, each- SOLD. (I ain't *ever* getting a paycheck at this rate.... :-()
Okay. The family has agreed on the name for the Deuce. It is now, officially and for ever more, to be known as the "Dead Line Special" in tribute of it being claimed and recovered from an effectual Dead Line of stuff.
