    M923 13 Speed Swap

Any idea where to find a longer yoke? Thank you! So is there only 3 lines going to the shifter? Sweet. I bet you’ll have plenty room then.

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Awesome thanks. I will keep that as a back up plan. I’m trying to do this on a budget and that’s getting harder every day.

I believe it would be too long....where would you get a companion flange like that anyway? I couldn’t find one the last time I looked.

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Put my u joint in today and discovered the jack shaft is too short. Only splined about 3/8” when hooked up. I don’t think that will cut it. Anybody got any ideas? Gonna see if it can be lengthened but I have my doubts.

Your 5 ton, The spring brake tank and RUST - My M936

That’s interesting. I went to look at mine and it is against 2 small vertical pieces on my m923, totally different setup.

Got the u joint today and confirmed it will work. So that’s a relief.

    Still not starting or idling

I wonder if the overflow spring is broke. Just a thought. I’d pull the valve out and have a look. If it’s in the same place as a p7100 it’s on the inside toward the front of the pump. It looks like a banjo bolt with another bolt screwed into it. Look up a YouTube video first. There are shims...

    Still not starting or idling

Have you checked lift pump pressure? Any smoke? Sounds like if you shut it off and immediately try to start it back it won’t start? I don’t think it’s sucking air. If you still think it is, pressurize the tank and see if you find any fuel leaking or try and start it while someone keeps pressure...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Finally have a u joint on the way. Went to 2 driveshaft shops and they both laughed when they saw the shaft (story of my life) before I even said what I needed. But a buddy of mine at truck pro found the discontinued spicer joint somewhere in Ohio and it should be here Tuesday. Hopefully that...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

I figured. No big deal at all. That does not sound like fun. At least you discovered it now rather than later with the engine halfway in.

Did you get a chance to take some pictures yet?

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Somewhat off topic but pertains to the cab being off I guess. Started on the dual fuel line today. That plug was fun to get out. Propane torch changed its tone though. Gonna cap it and leave it like that for now. I want to wait until I turn it up a little to see if it actually makes any...

New pyrometer & boost gauge pod install

    Wow. Very impressive.

    M923 13 Speed Swap

More gears equals more fun! Honestly if these had any manual trans I wouldn’t have started this. I just don’t like automatics. And thanks! I’m doing the best I can, making it up as I go.

@74M35A2 can you post some pictures of the air line routing on your trans?

    M923 13 Speed Swap

If I leave the output shaft speed sensor hole (I assume that’s what it is) empty will fluid leak out? Or is that sealed? If it’s not sealed any idea what the thread size is?

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Big mikes motor pool. The web page does say they fit both. But it also shows the same nsn as the tm shows for the cab. Should I get different ones...?

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Took some pictures today. Plenty clearance everywhere. From the center of the transmission u joint to the face of the transfer case yoke is 9-1/8”. Also got some new rear cab mount bushings. Just thought the difference was kinda funny.

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Another note, just for the information, I decided to go ahead and order that starter spacer and see what happened. It was the right shape and the bolt pattern is correct. But it is .470” thick, the bolt holes are too small, and the raised part around the center hole has to be cut off. So I just...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Ah I thought 5 tons used the 8.5c/85wb. Never measured mine, just found that in a thread on here somewhere. Either way I guess that plan won’t work.
