This makes good sense, thank you. The manufacturer of the converter got back to me and said "it is not a stage-charger, it offers power only if needed, and does not push power" but they wouldn't comment further. I'm guessing this means it's different than a regular battery charger that slowly...
Where is it in your truck? Just curious. Having a 12v battery being charged on its own system by its own alternator is optimal, but that's going to be too far out of my technical ability. I need to find a way to charge it / maintain it outside of that, (that's even if I need to do that, because...
NGL that's awesome, but that is *way* out of my technical-know-how (and) desire to do something like this lol. Is your 12v alternator connected to it's own 12v battery?
Alright electrical-gurus, I need some help trying to figure something out in my truck. To preface this, my 923 has an industrial lift-gate installed on the back of the bed. It has been working (has worked) in the past until I removed the aux-battery from the aft-tool-box (to install tooling in...
This is just a followup, probably the last post here from my end. Been running the coolant (post-drain and flushes) for months now and this is the sample I took the other day after removing 2+ gallons to work on my fan-clutch actuator / shutter-stat.
Note: This was taken from the drivers-side...
I just developed a leak from this little hole as well. The truck sat for 10+ days so I'm not sure if it's related but I will also trying taking it out and cleaning / lubing it. Did you get a fix on yours?
I promise I tried searching for this but there's like a million+ threads and I can't figure out which one is applicable, so apologies in advance if I'm asking a question that's been answered multiple times.
Sitting at an extended red-light, I noticed my secondary air gauge was going down little...
Also as previously mentioned about lube, I used this stuff to break the bead and to assist with getting everything back in, it had plenty of working time, just a suggestion. I know some guys use Dawn soap too, anything to keep it slippery will help lol
I was in the same boat last year when I lost 2 of my 14.00 XZL, but didn't want to buy 7 (or change over to 16.00) at once. 14.00 are super hard to come by but I see them every now and then on FB-MP, I found replacements of the 2 XZL's on there actually and have AT2's in their spot (forward...
No worries, ty I will. I lost (x2) ZXL's in the fronts (due to cracking in the sidewall) and then I had Goodyear AT-2's installed in place (as they were spares). But I'm out of ZXL's and AT-2's and have some XL's as "backup tires" just in case I lose another ZXL. Trying to save up for 16.00 R-20...
Ok that sounds good, I need to install one of my XL tires in the spare-tire location and I wasn't sure if it would matter what side I needed it for. I guess I'm not going through water at 50+ mph where I would need it to sling in the correct direction lol. I'm glad to hear you ran these...
Totally off topic: are these directional-tread tires? Looks like this tire should be installed on the R/H side of the truck because the "arrow shape" of tire tread pattern is rotating up instead of down? Asking because I have spares of these tires and was wondering if they could be installed on...
After taking more items apart, I found there was a ton of rust scale in my coolant reservoir, I bought commercial-grade cleaning vinegar (30% strength, normal vinegar is 5%) and soaked the inside of it over night (off of the truck that is). Tons of scale came out, super nasty. Then since I had...
This is after the 3rd flush, (Technically flush #10+ since first starting in December lol) still getting some brown at the end of the flow, going to keep doing it but it's definitely getting better:

It probably is if the main fuel-filter is doing its job / is being serviced routinely and drained frequently. I wonder what the engineering perspective was for the little fuel filter 🤔
Good question, lots of variables to truly have a definitive answer, I guess it would vary on engine hours / mileage + rpm average, quality of fuel, if using fuel additives, etc. If you have the 8.3 (not sure if you have the NHC 250) I've read that the little filter can be 2 years / 22.5k miles...
