    M923A2 Tachometer Question:

Sounds good, will report back with findings, ty!

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

Ty Sir, the filter does get really hot so I know I have (decent) flow through it lol. The port on this filter-base is much wider than the (Napa?) one that a lof of guys use, and I liked how it was multi-directional instead of having to feed in from the top only. I wound up just using the hoses...

    M923A2 Tachometer Question:

You think I should fuss with it where it attaches to the front of the engine? Or just disconnect it from the Tach end to see if it's actually rotating?

    M923A2 Tachometer Question:

I have a problem with my Tach, both the RPM indication *and* the Hobbs Meter don't work. Looking in the TM I see that there is a "Tachometer Pulse Sensor" that is right behind the gauge. Does that drive both functions of "RPM" and "Engine Hours"? I'm trying to best troubleshoot the parts before...

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

Also since I mentioned it previously, here are some pix of the coolant-filter I installed, I will be changing the spin-on after all this and opening the current one to see how much stuff was caught in the past few months and during the flush, will be interesting to see I think:

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

Good to hear on this, I know most of the "material" settles so getting it out of the block quicker will help. I'll do the drain and flushes with the t-stat removed, and then do a final install on the new gaskets / seal / T-stat before adding last round of distilled water and coolant-concentrate.

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

That's a good copy, how much per gallon / the system for the flush? How long should it sit in there before draining out? I guess I'm paranoid about clogging up lines with all the rust it will remove lol.

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

Yes Sir I ordered the T-Stat with new seal as well, probably original part in there it's time to come out if opened up I say lol. That's great about the diverter-plug I actually didn't know what that was for but now it makes total sense, thank you!

M923a2 Coolant System Drain and Flush:

I have to replace a leaking thermostat-housing gasket and noticed the coolant is still rusty / coffee-like so I think it's good to do another system flush on top of this. To do this with white vinegar as suggested, since it is a mild acid, how many gallons to add to the system? How long should...

    any place to fix glass?

My man, Berlin is like < 15 mins from me I’m in Williamstown. We should meet up one day it would be nice to have another 5-Ton friend in the area and if you need help wrenching lemme know too. The guy I used is “Illusions Custom Mirrors & Glass” maybe he’ll give you a good deal for more work but...

    The WeenieWagun v3

Just wanted to point out that I think it's hilarious that the engineers designed the transmission drain plug right over the skid-plate brace and then were like "Oh crap, we need a hole for the fluid to drain out of since it'll get caught in the channel" (but then completely neglected to account...

    M923A2 high EGT fix!

Wonderful, that's my bad I thought the video of the exhaust leak was current since you posted it on Sat, but looks like you fixed ABS issue back in Sep. I'm glad you found the code reader too that's awesome!

    M923A2 high EGT fix!

Also not to compound problems for you Sir, but I noticed your ABS light was on  You battery gauge looked like it was in the green-range so it might actually be an ABS issue instead of generator output issue? Went ahead in the TM and found this for troubleshooting, seems like lots of...

    any place to fix glass?

Where are you at in NJ? I just had my windshield replaced back in the fall by a local glass shop who mainly does glass-shower installs and said he'd love to take on the job to work on a military vehicle. So don't just go for automotive shops check out those custom glass and window / bathroom...

923A1 Cummins 250 Injection Pump Replacement

I think (someone can jump in on this) that the fluid line connections are AN/JIC fittings (37' flare) on the hose-ends and the correct torque is what makes the seal, but any NPT fitting I wouldn't see how throwing some fuel-rated tape on the threads could hurt. Not sure how your spin-on fuel...

losing prime after a week m929

Hmm I had no idea about this, is this also somewhere in the operators manual? I'm new to the truck (and Diesels in general) so still trying to learn all the tricks of the trade.

losing prime after a week m929

Might be a little crude, but, a good way to pressurize the fuel system: - They were like < $4 on Amazon lol. I figured I would (eventually) have fuel problems with regard to priming so I wanted to pre-install a quick way to pressurize the tank haha. Also, always use a pressure regulator with...

Things I need to do before I drive my M925a2 home

My suggestion would be to get some 1/4" / 3/8" / 1/2" DOT air-line with a variety of brass air-brake line fittings/unions. If you lost an air line on your trip you could repair it very easily. So many things run off the air system. This would also be good to have in the truck permanently too. An...

Has the trans fluid debate been settled yet?

Good to hear you had improved results as well, Sir. I actually didn't think that far out for the governor filter lol so didn't look into parts-purchasing for that. I did hear that they are cleanable so if I can't find one by the time I need to drain-and-refill again I will just do that, already...

Has the trans fluid debate been settled yet?

Just as a followup, I switched over to this on the weekend (drain and refill + frame-filter change), and the 2nd to 1st hard downshift is completely gone. The truck also shifts way smoother up and down too, doesn't hang in gear as long. It's like driving a totally new truck without that hard...
