What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Cucvrus is spot on. Access them from the bottom between the frame rails. Long handle ratchet with a deep well socket should do the trick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice find. So what happens next? Are you trying to acquire this thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I used -8 hose and fittings. That size has a close inside dimension to the OEM lines so I figured it would be best. See post #18, I did a write up with part numbers and pictures. I might go back tonight and add a few more pictures...

    Custom Oil Cooler lines...pics...info?

Thanks for the feedback! I think those brass adapters can still be found online if someone needed new ones or extras. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I made some trick custom oil cooler lines today. I did a detailed write up in the custom oil cooler thread if anybody is interested. I also reinstalled the drivers mirror, brush guard and bumpers, topped off fluids and washed out the cab. It was the first time I had her out on the road in...

    Custom Oil Cooler lines...pics...info?

So I finished up my custom oil cooler lines today and they work great with only one easily rectified leak. I wanted to post an AAR for everyone to read; hopefully it can help someone else out in the future. First out shopping list. I went to Summit Racing but Jegs or any other speed shop would...

    Custom Oil Cooler lines...pics...info?

Good so far with AN lines. I'll have a lengthy write up tomorrow on it once I run the truck and verify we aren't leaking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Optima promo videos featuring CUCV's

I wish. I'd like to see more of them. I you do Instagram, you can find two of the guys there. The post a ton of Chevy stuff; some military, some not. I think their handle is @bornforadventure and @creepanddestroy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Custom Oil Cooler lines...pics...info?

I'm not surprised by that one bit. At least the hard line was steel and not aluminum. I'm still trying to put together truly custom braided stainless AN lines but Delco replacements are sort of my fall-back option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Custom Oil Cooler lines...pics...info?

I know it's been a while but I'm going to Summit Racing tomorrow and I'll let everyone know if they have what I need to do this. If they don't I'm gonna settle for a set of ACDelco or Dorman OE replacements. They are leaking pretty bad now and part of the hard line part rubbed the shift linkage...

    Optima promo videos featuring CUCV's

No problem, figured people would like it. The trucks in the video are pretty nicely laid out. I'm not sure if any of them are members here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Optima promo videos featuring CUCV's

Maybe some of you have already seen this video put out by Opitma but I found this today and wanted to share it. If you are on Instagram and follow Chevy squarebody or military stuff you might recognize a few of the guys and their vehicles. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/1lihuBCAH48 Sent...

    Fuel Injection Pump Help

I'll second Antennaclimber on Oregon Fuel Injection. I have not rebuilt a pump through them but I have spoke to them on the phone a few times and their customer service is top notch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

B-29 "Doc" Awarded New Airworthiness Certificate

I know it pretty pricy for rides but it's probably so worth it! I'm sure the cost to operate isn't cheap so it's all relative I guess. I've been kicking around the idea of buying my father-in-law a ride as a retirement gift. His father flew B-29's- his crew has 20 some missions and was one of...

    B-17 Flying Fortress

The flight engineer told us it costs about $4500/hour to operate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    B-17 Flying Fortress

I was very fortunate to be included on this ride. I know the rides aren't exactly cheap but they are worth every penny. You only have to be seated for ground operations (takeoff, landing and taxiing), after that you are free to go anywhere in the plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    B-17 Flying Fortress

Some of you might know that my fiance and I are both photographers; she works for a local newspaper and I freelance (in addition to my day job). That being said, I got a phone call Friday afternoon from her about an extra spot on the media flight yesterday morning. A few phone calls later and a...
