What are everyone's thoughts on 4-door M35A2 crew cabs ?

Don’t think I have ever seen the movie but I probably heard it from someone that did.

What are everyone's thoughts on 4-door M35A2 crew cabs ?

if done right structure would be more than adequate. I think they look cool but the juice doesn’t seem to be worth the squeeze. If I was looking to regularly haul 4 people I don’t think the deuce would be the vehicle of choice.

    Continental's CMD-350; a 350HP multifuel engine

Static and dynamic compression are not always the same and in most cases are not the same. Almost all modern engines have hydraulic phasers on the cam gear to change cam timing (some engines more than 60 degrees of range). That would be the easiest way to change dynamic compression by effecting...

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

In stock form 10,000 is where the fuel limiter is set. Drag racers will port them to make power well beyond that but it is not practical for anything but drag racing. Since your porting does exactly the same thing a cam shaft does in a piston engine you can see where the extreme porting would...

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

    Yes!!!

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

No they can’t get it to meet modern emission standards. They are unique and I wouldn’t mind owning one to tinker with but they are not fun as a customer car. By the 100k mile warranty most of them have gotten 2 engines replaced and the job sucks as a flat rate technician. They don’t pay well...

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

started at a Toyota dealership then worked for ford for a few years but spent most of my time with mazda but now I am on the parts side at a Mack/Volvo dealer. They asked me to work in the shop but they are paying me well enough to sell parts that there is no incentive to get my hands dirty. Car...

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

Believe me I understand the shop dynamic as I have been employed by dealerships for basically my whole working career. We will see what happens with the (reused) gasket as the op said he is not replacing it. I believe he will be fine but time will tell. If it was mine I would have reused it but...

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

no shop diesel or not would reuse a head gasket but they are there to make money not save it.

    Engine rotation damage

If turned by hand to inspect/set timing no damage would occur.

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

Yes you can use the gasket and no additive is needed. I have reused head gaskets in the past for different applications without problem. I would not consider your gasket used as it has only been torqued and has not seen a heat cycle. If you chop to use copper spray it will not hurt but is far...

Exhaust Manifold to Turbocharger - broken stud

I am no expert on this subject but oxygen sensors come with copper type in a little packet for installation. I don’t know what one is better where or why but I would assume copper would be better for exhaust.

    M35A2 Aftermarket Radiator Install Thread

This seems to be a reasonably easy project for almost any skill level. Thanks for sharing. I know with the cost and lack of reliability with oem radiators if I ever need to replace mine it will be with one of these.

M35a2 air filter element: commercial part #?

It will probably be a while but I have no or doing that

M35a2 air filter element: commercial part #?

I think the best option is to find something at the local big rig salvage yard. I think I am going to visit one in the near future if not for anything but the fun of it.

    WMO (again)

From what I understood the gasoline just made the settlement faster. If adding to your totes that are going to be slightly drained and refilled I would use as little as possible so the percentage in the tote does not get excessive over time.

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

No argument there. One could also look at it from the prospective that if it doesn’t smoke without the extra seal then why add it. But that is interesting though I would never have thought that adding valve seals would ever cause excessive wear. That is one of those things that you would never...

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

usually valve guides are a brass alloy that is considered to be self lubricating. At least that is the way I understood it.

    torque rod bushings

Are there many documented failures of the ball joint style ends. I kinda thought they were accepted as the superior replacement.

Overthinking things again - Grease - Wheel bearings

I would agree for the most part (I live in central pa) so that would apply to me even tho I really didn’t think much about ambient temperature when I ordered the grease.
