I thought you would like that. Unfortunately no Bosch or Mitsubishi lift pumps found... any idea where the Delphi pumps are made? From what I’m reading it sounds like the Cummins OE replacement pumps are made in Jhina?
Shhhh... I’ve been playing in the diesel fuel so much lately, she cant smell it anymore either. I’ll get some pics of the garage later, but heres some goodies my wife made that I can send you.The kids say you can barely taste the diesel.
Back to the lift pump, any recommendations? I don’t want...
This is fun!
I gravity fed directly to the lift pump, from a fuel can, still no change in pressure. I would think this should eliminate trash in the tank, collapsing fuel lines, or sucking air.
I hooked the trucks fuel line back up to the lift pump, and checked the flow at the inlet to the...
Anythings possible, lines “look” new, and there are other clues that they have been replaced fairly recent. If it gets to checking for that I will likely do as Will suggested and check how much suction is on the inlet side of the lift pump, before I replace them.
Well, we finally had enough snow last weekend to justify putting the plow back on. Sorry I didn’t get any good action pictures or video, and we only had 9” with no real drifting, so was fairly anticlimactic, maybe more snow this week. The plow worked fantastic with no real issues other than...
So, I got both filters changed with no improvement.
Checked the turbo hoses, found no leaks but look like replacement needs to be put on the to do list.
Swapped out the lift pump with the “newer looking” Carter from my parts truck,no change in pressure, but the pressure is much slower to...
Yep, I know where New Pal is. Quite a few good members right around you. Start a intro thread with your location and some pictures of your truck, they might chime in.
Hope to see you at Haspin! I’m close and can usually lend support, or a tow if you do beak something. As well as many other...
Yeh, I should probably check that side to, but the loss of prime and low fuel pressure lured me toward looking at the fuel.
Last night I had the boy watch my gauge while I pumped the primer and was getting 25PSI, so I’m really suspecting the lift pump, plus maybe the overflow valve for a few...
Replaced the primary canister filter today, it did have quite a bit of junk in the canister but the element looked pretty good. No change in pressure, secondary spin on pressure filter will be here tomorrow, not expecting much. Will probably try feeding the lift pump from a bucket for the heck...
No front axle, cab, or transfer case needed. A couple of trailer jacks, longer driveshaft, throttle, hood, maybe your crane, and possibly a 20’ bed to fill the gap where the cab used to be. It’s a trailer... the pintle will carry the front. Imagine the awesome burnouts you could do! I used to...
Plenty of time yet, hope you all can get your tucks sorted out on hold them together, so we can see you there!
TrueSoldier33, you still in Chicago?
Gramps, what part of Indiana you from?
I still say slap the ISX with an auto on the front of your trailer. You can do the build at your leisure, and just hook it up whenever you need to eat someones lunch. Kill two threads with one build, maybe put your crane and modified CTIS ECU on there as well... and mount a dummy shifter in...
