    ABERDEEN 2012 ( Only 192 days away)

I'll be looking for a 5 ton tool box (behind the cab) and a 5 ton complete air cleaner that mounts on the fender like on an M818.

    Newbie just got deuced!

There is some good info on that site. I painted my truck per the TM/FM this past weekend.

    Cargo Cover Weight

Me thinks the canvas is a good bit heavier than a vinyl (which is why I'm switching to vinyl and selling the canvas) so hopefully someone chimes in with the difference...

    Cargo Cover Weight

Search didn't help with this one. I'm looking at shipping a 3 piece M35A2 canvas cargo cover. Just the canvas and ropes, no bows, etc. Does anyone know a number I can use for estimating the weight for shipping? I would weigh it but I am an hour away and stuck at work allllllllll day.

    ABERDEEN 2012 ( Only 192 days away)

So a major part of my attendance this year will be seeing the ordnance museum for the first time. Are there formal tours? Do I have to sign up early due to the crowd? Also, my 17 year old brother is coming and he does not yet have a photo ID. Will that be a problem? I don't think the museum...

    New Guy fm PA

Where in PA are you? There are several deuce owners in the Pittsburgh area. I'll be at Aberdeen too. I know of a clean truck for sale in the Pittsburgh area (not mine).

    ABERDEEN 2012 ( Only 192 days away)

Well let's not cloud up this thread with any more talk of that disappointing person. I'll be shopping for a whole set of M35A2 brake HOSES (frame to axle)!

Built a simple WMO filtering setup

I threw some big speaker magnets in the bottom of my waste oil filtering system storage drum and after a few fills of the drum they were covered in metal particle. I don't think you can put enough magnets in the system.

    Copper Compression Fitting Air Leak

I had an air leak come up on the copper line compression fitting that is at the compressor. It is the large line (1/2"?). The leak is coming out of the gap between the compression nut and the line itself. Maybe the ferrule is undersized from age? Can I replace just that? I tried disassemble...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yesterday the girlfriend helped me wash the truck. We went and ate northern Chinese health food at a local restaurant while it dried it in the sun. Then when we got back we attacked it with $0.99 cans of flat black spray paint from Walmart and Rustoleum flat brown spray paint. 15 or so cans...

    Hydro-Pneumatic Bed Crane

The air valve came apart easily and looks to be pretty well worn inside. As suspected it looks like it supplied air, blocked air and held it in the system, and released air in the 3 positions of the lever. I think I'm going to replace the whole air switch with some simple plumbing and 2 ball...

A flapper that did not keep the rain out.

^ So much win after reading those over-the-top answers. I have a degree in mechanical engineering, but I also have the common sense to know when to put it away and just fix the darn thing.

Hey guys I got tm america's alt bracket but I didn't see any part number for the new belt with my stuff. Can anyone hook me up? I need that tomorrow to get up and running.

    My M35A2 Kaiser

Oil in the exhaust? Sounds like a leaking turbo seal, meaning the turbo needs replacement or rebuild. There are good rebuild instructions on here. I could be wrong. The leaking filter probably just needs changed and the seal replaced. Like said above, torque the filters properly and don't...

    Non Winch Offroad Recovery

Unless I'm missing something, using a wheel as a winch by wrapping around the wheel and securing to the hub will not work unless you are using both hubs on the same axle at the same time. Without both hubs pulling on your winch point, the side of the axle not winching will just spin in the mud...

    Newbie just got deuced!

WMO = waste motor oil WVO = waste veggie oil/cooking oil WATF = what a terrific fluid (waste ATF) Yes, ATF seems to give the truck a little more pep and cleans out the fuel lines. Some people find when you first switch to running waste oils you will need to change your fuel filters. I carry...

    Newbie just got deuced!

My first mods were car seats, a second deuce fuel tank where the spare tire was, a muffler, coolant filter, adding the 90 degree bend 4" exhaust pipe to the intake so it faces down like a snorkel, EGT digital pyrometer, boost gauge, back-up lights, and changing all the fluids! Second round in...
