Another day another brake petal on the floor

In addition, drive train stresses in the axle felt by pinion breaking would be comparable to those experienced during engine breaking and acceleration. Busted!

    M3A1 Stuart Muzzle Flash!!!

That is pretty sweet! I'm digging the pumpin launcher on the flat bed in the back ground too.

    Cleaning up an M416

I got my Maine trailer plate for my M416 today. Since I only had a bill of sale for my M416 and no other proof of ownership, I couldn't title and register it in PA without paying a $300 or so re-titling fee at a certified inspection station. I was able to register my trailer online in Maine...

    Ran out fuel today!!

I was thinking along those same lines.

    Ran out fuel today!!

I was always told running a diesel engine out of fuel is a very bad thing. Something about hard to re-prime. is this not true with our MVs?

Hyvolt II Transformer Oil and Rubber

Are you talking about o-rings and seals in the fuel delivery system? I'm not sure what is involved but you could download the parker o-ring book or similar and convert to Viton or Nylon or whatever material you need for chemical resist. Probably the same materials for silicon DOT 5 break...

    Cleaning up an M416

Now that is a good looking trailer right there.

    Cleaning up an M416

Based on what I saw the wires were plenty beefy for the small amount of power required by trailer lighting. You can use the trailer's current connector and wire lead back to the tongue and just use military waterproof terminals there to connect to it under the plate hiding all the wiring...

    Cleaning up an M416

What's the story on that hard cover? I found the original trailer wiring to be adequate gauge, but with wiring that old the insulation is rotting and cracking. It's worthwhile to go to Walmart and buy the $7 or so trailer wiring kit I found there that has a 4 prong standard plug with more than...

    The green disease finally struck

If you weren't a few hundred miles away I would offer you my CJ5 windshield (single piece) for your cut-out one. I would love to have one of those and make up a recoiless rifle from PVC for parades. Out of curiosity how much would you want for it?

    Cleaning up an M416

I have a friend looking for one of that time period for his CJ2A restored as an M38. PM sent.

    Cleaning up an M416

I ordered a tarp for a cargo cover for my M416 from mytarp.com. 5' x7' OD green canvas. I think it was $30 with shipping. Delivery was prompt and the material feels very heavy and military like. The size is perfect. I cut a 2x4 to run down the middle of the trailer, sitting on the tub lip...

    Cleaning up an M416

That is a cool little dump trailer. What is the "M #" for those (like M416)?

    Cleaning up an M416

Post your M416s! That one trailer looks like it has plates welded to it all around. Any clue what that is about? There is some body work to do there but at least they're complete.

    recently added to my stable

Looks like a sweet set-up. I would love to have a place to hang out like that.

    M109A4 Sub-Zero Oil Field

I live near Johnstown PA. Your route posted originally takes you about 20 min south of me. If you're having any problems within your first few hundred miles I'll give you my contact information and I'll do whatever I can to assist. You might not be wanting to stop and rest that soon but I can...

    M38a1 + M100 length?

You're going to have way too much tongue weight using the set up you describe on the pictured trailer. That is way I back the jeep on with the trailer on second or put the trailer on first.

    Cleaning up an M416

Thanks guys. I'm still restoring things at my parent's place. Where I rent, I have barely enough room to park my motorcycle. Close to where I work though. Luckily the parents are VERY understanding! I forgot to add, I rewired the trailer for 12 volt and I ordered a generic OD green canvas...

Fall 2011 Rausch Creek MV Rally

Man I wish I could make this outing. I signed up to go with the girlfriend somewhere that weekend. I hope there is a spring run there. I'm only 3 hours drive away!

    Cleaning up an M416

Rescued 7/29/11 from the edge of a farmer's field where it had been parked in the shade since about 1990. I've been meaning to pick it up since I first saw it back around 2004. Amazing it still has a floor in the bed. I had to shovel out a half foot of nature's garbage though. Both tires...
