M151A2 from N Kansas City MO to Athens GA

No problem. Lots of folks here have helped me out. I try to return the help when I can. I’ve used Brian Stilwell of B&R trucking a few times to move my M35 and a Jeep. He’s always given me the best rate and is great to work with. It’s been about 5 years since I worked with him last during my...

M151A2 from N Kansas City MO to Athens GA

I can’t help move it to GA, but if you need a place to stash it until you get transpo lined up I’m just outside of KC.

What antenna do I need for 450MHz?

An AS-3449 antenna is standard for a VSQ-2 EPLRS which transmits 100W on high power. Duty cycle might be a factor since it’s a TDMA FH data radio. Again, I don’t know how the antenna specs would work out for non-standard use. I’m probably overlooking aspects of your application, just offering...

What antenna do I need for 450MHz?

An AS-3449 PLRS/EPLRS antenna is designed for 420-450MHz. I don’t know how it would perform for your application, but it’s built for the right freq range.

    Bose CVC headset help

Bose headsets are made for VIC-3 systems. They are not made for VIC-1 intercoms. Somebody on SteelSoldiers may have developed a modification to make it work, but I don’t recall seeing a plug and play solution.

    Towing a Jeep

Neat film and novel use of a helicopter. The French worked the heck out of H-21’s in Algeria.

    New Munitions Forums!

Glad to see this change. Munitions are a great topic and I look forward to reading the discussions from the steelsoldiers collective. Hopefully we can keep it civil and nonpartisan enough to enjoy this new forum! PSA follows for a point of clarification… Ordinance vs. Ordnance This is less of...

Got all my M35A2 LED lights working....for a little bit. Anyone worked on LED's with success?

Luck of the draw I suppose. I did have to swap my old flasher unit for a new one that would work with LEDs. But that was a known issue going in to it. I picked up my LED lights when the market was fairly saturated so they were much cheaper than they are now. I probably wouldn’t have done it if...

LEDs all around on mine and I never had any issues like that.

    Please help identify....

They’re vehicle kill indicators for multiple integrated laser engagement systems (MILES). Not 5 ton specific. They would be mounted on any vehicle outfitted with MILES at a combat training center such as NTC, JRTC or JMRC. Usually armored combat vehicles are fitted with MILES. These lights may...

That’s all? Don’t forget the 7.3% general overhead charge, 3.4% hidden surcharge tax, 22% hefty excess fee, and the 11.56% fee processing fee.

    Mighty-mite restomod ideas

I recall a nice Mighty Mite restomod over on the expedition portal forums. It’s been a few years since I read the thread, but I recall the guy put in a little Diesel engine, made some other changes and substantially improved the drivability. Other than tan or white paint the exterior looked...

    What grease for wheel bearings?

I’ve found every type of Lucas I try seeps out of my grease gun when it gets hot in the sun. GAA doesn’t. It doesn’t get much more unscientific than that, but GAA doesn’t seem to ooze liquid like all types of modern grease I try. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I stick with GAA whenever possible.

    Nuclear 5 tons.

The later W31 warhead fitted to Honest John rockets had a yield up to 30kt. Many were also fitted with 1500lb conventional warheads. I find the Army tactical nuke era fascinating. Most folks don’t realize how many tactical atomic weapons were forward deployed with Army formations. We can talk...

Anyone Ever Ship Vehicles from Japan???

I have zero firsthand knowledge of how to do it, but I bought an imported Japanese Mitsubishi-Jeep from a guy in GA that routinely brings in vehicles from Japan. I’ll shoot you his contact info if it’ll help.

Most unfortunate. Hopefully the Rally will survive. M35a2 deuce headlights

What brand these economical LED headlights? I’ve been kicking around getting a pair for another vehicle but I’m reluctant to buy an unknown brand from Amazon or an auction site. M416 Civiian Wheel Interchange

Resurrected... So, is there any issue with using M38 wheels and tapered lug nuts on a M416? I’d like to use common wheels, and I think the solid M38 wheel look better. I just don’t want any safety concerns. Seems to me that if I used some 7/16”-20 tapered nuts for lug centric rather than the...
