The fan is not loud when it engages at idle. When clutched in it turns at engine speed, so the "jet taking off" sound we often describe it tied to high idle, i.e. driving along the road.
If you've verified it indeed clutches in, then at least that part is working. There are threads here...
Not my first time noticing you. We've posted back and forth before and I respect your work.
I've printed a couple of things, and am still hoping I can come up with something to market for HMMWVs or other MV that will help me offset the cost of my commercial machine. Not that I have to, I just...
Look pretty nifty. Great use of a printer. I am slowly making more plans to use mine around the house and Humvee. (I should, it cost enough!)

A wander through their pages shows me that prices vary as compared to other sources we are more used to. We can tell from this that markups from other vendors also vary, sometimes significantly!

Wow! Thanks Coug! The wiring harness I almost bought last week on eBay is almost half price on the AMG site. And WooHoo, 4L80E shifters for $460.
You rock man!

I'm pretty sure all the hoses and plenums in my 1987 M998 leak like sieves, so my truck takes forever to get hot air to my legs. I could seal the cab a lot better I know. I have to explain to anyone who rides in it during winter that coats are kept ON in the truck and warm boots are...
Another callout for a recommended garage skilled enough to swap a HMMWV powertrain; 6.2L 3L80 to 6.5Turbo 4L80E. I've what looks like a good source for a frame cut complete Turbo powertrain and no-one to install it.
The ones I've talked to have declined, politely, so I'm still searching...
Wow, $45 each at Kascar, higher from others. I can definitely make them WAAAAAAAAY cheaper than that, even using quality made fiber reinforced ABS.

If swabbie doesn't take you up on it, I will. At least I can take a look at it and decide if it's worth trying to CAD one up to try out. The printer I have now can readily handle the better plastics I would want to build this out of if I were going to sell them and stand behind them.

Plan to come to Graves Mountain Rally over Labor Day. Hard to say what the schedule will be this year, but Cabell plans to hold the rally as of recently

I'd inspect the fuel tank for algae or other gunk as well, in addition to the items mentioned. Sounds like she just needs cleaned in (cleaned out, inside).
Congatulations!

Tinstar, I'm ordering parts now for the brakes and having trouble finding the part #s. I can't find a parts manual here on the site.
Any chance you have part #s for those Dexter/Redline wheel brake cylinders and other brake parts, or a link to a page where they might be grouped?
A friend is...
It's definitely in
My squeak is definitely in the body or some fitting, near as I can tell. Not dependent on the brakes. It sounds like its coming from just beyond the llower left side of the doghouse. I haven't tried hard to find it, as it mostly happens when wet so it's too sloppy to want...
