Agreed. I'm glad they decided to be more public/practical about supplying us, and I don't mind these stickers all over my packages. As long as the packages keep coming! BDGR

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Not sure I've seen that style. Looks good. BDGR

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I have to admit not knowing the difference. Since my takeout 6.2 has a DB2, it sounds like we'll have to send it for rebuild, which is not a problem. The power pack was just delivered today, and it hasn't been unwrapped to see what we've got yet. We start Saturday, or more likely Monday...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I considered a dual-voltage alternator and may yet install one. The converter is a temporary fix in my eyes. The engine I'm taking delivery of Wednesday already has a 12V alt on it as well. Plenty of options. I would think a third battery for the 12V system would be needed, but I could find...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Worthwhile considerations Tobash. The converter Is immersion rated (though Chinese so time will tell). I didn’t interfere with the wiper wash tank or piping. That area was empty before. I didn’t want to put anything in the battery compartment because I was worried about direct immersion. We do...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Installed a 60A 24VDC to 13VDC converter. This will help not only with future accessories but help my mechanic and I sort out wiring up a Hummer H1 turbo diesel and 4spd drivetrain later this coming week. While I may end up converting it all over to 24V, this allows us to get on the road faster...

Source for HMMWV M998 Heater core?

Thanks Milcommoguy, I’ll search harder. My Google-Fu was not strong yesterday. Bulldogger

Source for HMMWV M998 Heater core?

Thanks papakb, but that is definitely different. Here is a picture from HPGs site. Action sent me a lead. If it pans out I’ll post details. Bulldogger

Source for HMMWV M998 Heater core?

Having trouble finding one. AMG doesn't have one, and HPG says the old school A0 one is discontinued. I'm sure AMG didn't design a heater core just for the M998, and reused something from Detroit. Anybody know which one? Bulldogger

Boredom project, LB7 dirtymax turbo on a 6.2

I hear ya. I thought VERY HARD about a 4BT and nearly bought one. If I had the space, i.e. a good shed or large garage, I would have DIYd a 4BT in there for sure. Considering how low my 6.2 compression is, I'm going to nearly double my Hp and torque by putting in a 45K mile 6.5 turbo...

Boredom project, LB7 dirtymax turbo on a 6.2

Guy near me has a 6.2, appears in good shape, he wants just $500 for. But that's a ways from AZ for an unguaranteed motor. I decided to source a whole powertrain instead. Thought hard about the 6.2, as it would drop right in, but opted for MORE POWER! BDGR

Boredom project, LB7 dirtymax turbo on a 6.2

My super-low compression 1987 6.2 would explode at every seam with that kind of pressure. Glad you diagnosed it. Sorry to hear of blown seals, but it's part of the process. It is very interesting following this thread and I'll join those who thank you for sharing this. (Fun side note, I have...

You got your heater on in Arizona???

    AM General parts website

I hope you're wrong Juan, as I'm sure other are. But it's hard to say. AMG has several military contracts worth millions over time, but they are finite and often re-bid and Oshkosh is a substantial competitor for sure for new contracts. With HMMWV service life extensions in progress at least...

Ordered a take-out Turbo Motor and Transmission. Going to swap out the very tired 6.2L and 3L80. I'll keep folks posted. BDGR

Graves Mountain Rally (Virginia), Labor Day Weekend 2020

I recall seeing a video or picture of one of the members loading a jeep in a 5-ton a couple years ago, if memory serves. Certainly plenty of room there, I'll vouch for that. BDGR

    1991 HMMWV overheating

I've had similar thoughts, either a rubber balded fan or electric. The fan system is mentioned far too many times on this Site as a point of failure and we've all had to work on ours, or so it seems. Glad mine still works! BDGR

    Graves Mountain Rally Buy-Sell-Trade

I'll bring the HMMWV cargo cover bows I've had listed for free here along with me. Anyone wants to speak up for them now I'll mark them for you and leave them at the CP. No soft slant back kits this year (though I never actually sold one at the Rallies). My shop is closed as the house sold and...

    Humvee Rear driveshaft

Sounds good. I'll put in a plug for AAA. The plans vary in service and cost, but mine will tow me up to 50 miles to the destination of my choice. Came in handy when I broke toe rear u-joint of my front propellor and it ground into my t-case while towing my trailer two years ago. Probably...
