    200A 24V/12V Alternator Question

I'm on my second regulator and still not getting 12VDC output. Can anyone tell me if the alternator make BOTH voltages, and needs both regulated, or does it only make 24VDC and the regulator or some other feature in the circuit converts 24V to 12V or something? This is my first dual-voltage...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I mounted my Jerry can in my cargo bed on the left front fender wall. I used stainless carriage bolts and wing nuts (the wing nuts are therefore in the outer fender well ). It does block cargo sometimes, but the wing nuts mean if it really bugs me I can zing off the nuts and pull the frame and...

    M998 muffler

Welcome to the site. I can't answer as to where to get an affordable replacement muffler, but I did have the same problem. What I did was wire wheel the broken area, and slip a collar on it, cut from a piece of exhaust fitting from the auto parts store. The fitting was chosen such that it...

    Voltage varies

Something is wrong, definitely. I've had this happen now and again, as so many of us have. First check your wiring connections, everywhere connected to the alternator, especially the battery box and don't forget there is a contact post on the outside of the battery box where the +24V battery...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Adjusting it a tad sounds like a good plan. One must keep in mind the TM alignment settings are for a truck routinely carrying troops and supplies, some 1/2 to 1 ton (per it's 1.25 ton rating) and thus the toe out/in of the loaded suspension will be evened out by the loading. I recall reading...

    LB7 swap... anyone done this?

People are pushing Dmax's into HMMWVs with their tight engine bays, so I assume a CUCV will be a relative cakewalk. Not that it won't have plenty of oopsies to deal with, but I'm sure it can be done with a big enough hammer. Don't forget pictures! BDGR

Whipple Turbo or Super? It'll be interesting to follow regardless. And don't squeeze the Charmin, or Mr. Whipple gets mad. Bulldogger

Transmission Light On When Engine Off

hrbergeron had similar troubles recently on one of his HMMWVs. Maybe his thread will help: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/transmission-light-issue.194948/post-2318019 Bulldogger

Nartron Directional Signal Control (Service/Not Working)

Understood. Unless someone else has a different experience than mine, I'd say it's toast. It's not possible to open them up (all that I've seen) for service. Bulldogger

I am wanting to buy my first Humvee I guess from gov planet!

Best of luck either way. Don't forget that if you buy from GP there are auction fee percentages and sales taxes on top of the winning bid, which add up to significant $$ fast for a vehicle you can't drive off the lot (since most Govt depots don't allow it, even for runners). I second Retired...

Nartron Directional Signal Control (Service/Not Working)

LED or Incandescent bulbs? You haven't given a lot of information, but when I see one blink and then nothing, it's usually when an Incandescent flasher relay interacts with the very-low power draw of LEDs and refuses to blink properly. BDGR

    M998 Project: "Tech-V (?)"

Looks good. What brand/source did you use for the USB and Cig Lighter ports? I've tried a few but they failed due to poor construction. Would like to replace them. Bulldogger

    M998 Electrical Questions / Problems

For the lights, I agree there could be a grounded or chafed wire somewhere. One thing that helped mine was to unscrew the connector from the back of the light control box, clean it and replace it. Could just be some corrosion on the pins. BDGR

Agreed! Mine doesn't leak, so I'd like to think it's a fluke. BDGR

    Breton industries leaky top

My Breton, installed this year, has seam sealant obviously visible on it. Perhaps they forgot or it isn't thick enough. I second the recommendation to re-coat the seams. Some center support won't hurt either. I'm thinking about it as much for noise as drainage. My new Breton top is a bit...
