How do i make this crane work what pto?

The best place to get answers to all your questions is your local truck body and equipment dealer. They can tell what pto you need. Some pumps are direct mount (no driveshaft) and some aren't. Whatever you get for a pto and how much you want to spend will dictate how it's actuated. Some are...

Disenchanted with m1009, Rather have an M880!

I had an M1008 for a work truck for a couple years and I have to say in all honesty that it was the one vehicle that made a lifelong chevy guy not EVER consider buying another GM product. If that POS is what we expected our soldiers to work with, God help us! The only good memory I have of that...

    Allow me to introduce myself

Bighurt Just wanted to say that I have a kid that just got discharged from the army that actually used steelsoldiers technical manuals to work on the older vehicles in her unit (800 series wrecker and M35a3 cargo trucks) because it was faster than going through channels. The older paper...

    WisDOT on the warpath again!

Hey Wreckerman, I'm just about ready to look at that farm you mentioned! How much snow do you get on average? Do your senators stay home? Can I actually drive a military vehicle on the road without worrying about which law or laws I'm breaking? I know the old "You can run but you can't hide"...

    New Deuce owner in Tennessee

Welcome, good lookin' truck! If I ever work up the nerve to sell out, load up, and move, I'd like to relocate in Tennessee! I've been there a few times and the people just seem to be friendlier than in the great state of L.A. East (Wisconsin).

    Inexpensive camper/utiliy box for m35a2

There's also a slide in shelter (for radio equipment I think) that's made for the standard deuce bed. It would give you a great basis for what you have in mind. There was one on the cover of MV Mag about 4 or 5 years ago, but I have no idea of the military designation.

    5 ton rear hub removal

Just keep leanin' over beastmaster. That's the way I did it for over thirty years and now I get to "Man Up" with $180 a month chiropractor bill just so I can walk. I've seen some pretty big men unable to stand up on their own. A blown disc don't care how big a man you are, it just stops you...

Nube question: What are those discs in the Grill?

Not sure of the cutoff date, but older plates are yellow with black numbers and newer plates are green with black numbers. The yellow are harder to find and consequently more expensive.

    Looking to Deuce in Wisconsin

Aww Kenny, quit bashing the a3! Besides the allison trans and the junk cat motor, the ugly looks, and the ctis, the a3 ain't all that bad. I'd take one as a gift, but that's the only way.

    Looking to Deuce in Wisconsin

Welcome! Good luck with finding the right truck or trucks. Seems one is never enough. I wouldn't be too worried about rust unless the truck was used by a town or county as a salt shaker. If at all possible, a personal inspection is best. Also, keep in mind these are old trucks. Extended road...
