I live 10 minutes from the Peoria GL site if anyone ever needs some help ever. I can do recoveries and store vehicles and help with loading or other arrangements if needed. I bid on that truck too, but didn't have the moola to come close to the winning bid.

Thanks for the info! I've got some books and manuals on order/eBayed for the piper cub and l-4. I'd like to know everything I can, even if things don't work out that I buy one (cause MiG-17's are cool too ya know!) Are there any books or military manuals/TM's that I should look for? Thanks!

That's good advice, thats the same reason why you can't use E85 in a normal vehicle cause of the alcohol. I didn't realize they were mixing avgas with it as well. Thanks for the info!

Amazing trucks for sure! There are some pictures here at the Tech Center of them being tested in our cold rooms. I'm glad the Marines think highly enough about Caterpillar to use our engines. Makes me very proud to be an American and a CAT employee!

I'm with VT on this. I think the CAF is a great idea, but if things turn sour or something happens and I have my own plane I could sell it if I had to. Flying other peoples stuff is a blast I'm sure, but there's nothing like walking out onto the tarmac and seeing your baby all gussied up ready...
