Questions and Help on WC 22 T215

Register over at G503.com, and post your questions in the 1/2 to 2 Ton forum(link below), lots of WWII Dodge experts there. I'm at work, and can't view your photos, but I might not be too concerned with the pitted PTO gears, if you can't find a better PTO. Winch PTOs on restored trucks usually...

Metal Magnets's M211 teardown and future rebuild.

I think the British also did this, not sure about the Aussies.

    CCKW arctic cab

A guy that served in Korea said they would run the tank engine up to operating temperature right before bedtime, and then sack out on the deck above the warm engine.

    What is it Worth?

I think the bulge/hump between the seats might be a steel pot(helmet). That way you know the seller is not lying to you. It has to be an authentic military jeep if there is still a helmet in it.

1953 M37 Carb Flooding. Assistance needed.

I'm no SAE mechanic, and I didn't go back and reread the entire thread, but the backfiring sounds like it could be a bad Condenser in the distributor. Breaker type ignition components available these days are often junk right out of the box. An entire batch from the same manufacturer could be...

If 1" square tubing fits, weld a piece of 1" steel square tubing to an old socket, and your ready to go.

    White 666?

Don, You need to watch the movie: The Wages of Fear, if you have not already seen it. You should be able to find it with English sub-titles.

    Donor vehicles

If you have the funds and storage, then definitely. I usually have at least one parts vehicle for anything I'm driving. You might be amazed at how many times you will remove parts from them, that you would have to purchase, and wait for their arrival otherwise. I will qualify my statements by...

Where is the sump on the oil pan? Car applications usually had a center sump, pickup trucks had rear sumps, and if my memory is correct, 1960's 2-wheel drive pickups with the straight axle had front sumps. Someone used to sell a kit to put a 318 into an M37, and I'm sure the blocks weren't...

    DMV asked for FMVSS proof..

Does anyone remember, or know where to find the thread(s) from years back when some of the DMV's were refusing 1008's (if my memory is right) for the same reason? There was a cover letter from a Gov't official relating that the U.S. Gov't exemption to FMVSS followed the trucks into civilian...
