    50's model dodge

I should have been more specific, and said cast spoke wheels with Dayton type rims. They are shown in the top picture in the second image that cbear posted of the sales brochure.

    50's model dodge

docfarmall, Here is a scan from a parts manual of an exploded view of this motor. They were first built in 377 cubic inch displacement, and later enlarged to 413 cubic inches before being replaced with a V-8 hemi. They are a gasoline truck engine from the 1950's, so are only around 6.5 or 7 to 1...

    Rusted out M416, worth it?

I have used these, and they are not very practical without a tailgate. Remember most people do not ford rivers on a regular basis, and don't need a water-tight trailer. There was a time when the receiver hitch did not rule the world, and pickups had sturdy rear bumpers with holes for a towing...

I must have missed the other 237 episodes of this series.

    Steel Soldiers, users age

That's what you think now, but when you hit 53, I bet you will wish you still felt like 33! I'm now 54, and changed a couple tires on split ring wheels yesterday(with the duckbill hammer), and I can tell you it was a lot easier when I was 33!

    Is this a CCKW rim.

If it is like a Dodge combat wheel, the bead-lock ring and the wheel overlap and rust binds them together sometimes making the ring very hard to remove. Safety note: Make sure there is no air in the tire before unbolting the ring.

    Who can ID this vehicles?

The bumper on the second vehicle looks like a Dodge 3/4-ton WC or M series. Also the wheel bolt pattern may be Dodge. Expanding on CARNAC's reference to Swede/Dutch origin, I believe Volvo built some trucks using Dodge type drivetrains.

    Show us your Military Trailers

Not actually military, but you folks might enjoy the pictures. These are older photos, and WW2 style invasion stars have since been added. Built for the local(Springfield, MO) antique car swap meet, due to the consumption of adult beverages, distance from our spaces to the facilities, and that...

    Ford in WW2

The faster you get back into operation, the faster you start making money. Henry tried to own every part that went into manufacturing a Ford to maximize profits, and probably more prominently, to have total control. After his first venture in automobile production with partners that did not...

    Ford in WW2

I do not know if it is fact or fiction, but I recall reading somewhere that Henry Ford had enough clout to keep the factory from being destroyed. He was the quintessential businessman.

    Longest recovery trip on record?

I would have declared you the winner, if you hadn't mentioned the earmuffs.

    Purchase or Pass?

The axle housings appear to be originals. I assume you have, or will test drive it at speed. Steering geometry may have been affected by the lift, if not done properly.

    Willys Trailer

Most likely it is a trailer 'salad', either homebuilt, or made by a small shop out of used parts. I am no early Willys expert, but I don't think they ever used that type of wheel. The axle is most likely a mid to late 1930's Ford with Willys Whippet hub caps on the axle ends. The builder...

Let's pump some life back into it then! Image source: http://www.ehow.com/how_2099118_use-automated-external-defibrillator.html The truck is in France, not Australia. Some links with photos. 1. http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=3706.0 2...

    6X6 Dodge Command Car

I remember seeing a picture somewhere, but I'm pretty sure it was a modern day incarnation. It may have been in Australia. I know there was a guy there that built Command Car bodies from scratch.
