    How to check IP?

What did you do to get it started for that time? Did you have to tear into the IP or did something else do it?

drive shaft lengthen for 6inch lift?

That's tuff as **** M-1028!! Did you lengthen your driveshafts with that lift?

drive shaft lengthen for 6inch lift?

I do intend on crossover steering, along with hydraulic assist. I'm going with that size lift because I plan on running 40" tires. I'm going 1-2" more lift than I need to avoid the rear tires rubbing on the wheel wells.

    M1010 fuel pump woes

Ok, so I got the pump installed a day or so after my last post and it ran great. Then a couple weeks ago it died and acted like I ran out of gas. I swapped the filter (filled with diesel before install) and attempted to bleed the system. I now have no fuel coming to the filter. It seems the new...

drive shaft lengthen for 6inch lift?

To those of you that are running 6-8" lifts with stock shafts, how intense of offroading do you do with your trucks, if any? I'm looking to do an 8-9" lift on my M1010 soon, but I want to make sure I won't run into issues with the drive train at full flex, so I figd I'd have to lengthen my...

Anyone else have truck from an NCI JAG unit?

I'll have to look honestly. I don't remember if it says Navy or not. Would the Navy have painted the truck OD when they received it? I see no traces of any Desert Tan or any other paint colors besides the box roof and top of the AC unit still being camo.

Anyone else have truck from an NCI JAG unit?

Quickfarms, would that mean the truck was transferred to the Navy from another branch? Is this a common occurrence with stateside bases? I'm guessing it had never left our shores since it only had 11,200mls when I bought it from the Clairton PD. Btw, to you guys in PA, I'm really not sure how...

How to celebrate a successful lift pump install

I can't see the attachment unfortunately, but I can def relate to wanting to celebrate a lift pump install. Funny thing is that after I got it finished I realized that it should have been a lot easier than it was. The biggest obstacle for me was when the rod got wedged inside the block and I was...

Anyone else have truck from an NCI JAG unit?

The truck was originally camo, which I thought was kind of odd for a navy truck. It was given to the Clairton PA police department through the gov't allocation program, and then they painted it black. The paddy wagon would make sense, except it was still equipped with all of the ambulance kit in...

Anyone else have truck from an NCI JAG unit?

Since my M1010 had already been painted black by the PD I bought it from, all the original markings were covered long ago. The only markings left are on the passenger side dash below the glove box- NCI JAG. I'm familiar with what the unit is, but I was somewhat surprised they would have a need...

Chevrolet 2500hd wheels on M1008...picture request?

I think they'd look pretty mean painted black, and still look military. Either way, make it look how YOU want it to look. Fully restored trucks are great, but I love a truck that the owner has made his own. My M1010 doesn't look military anymore since a PD painted it black. And it won't look...

Improve fuel efficiency in my M1009

The research I've done shows people reporting slight increases in power and fuel economy by switching to a 3" single exhaust (are M1009s single or dual exhaust from the factory?). I plan on doing this soon for my M1010. The oem 2 1/2" Y-pipe from a smallblock gasser bolts up to the 6.2 manifold...

    Wndshield Washer Performance?

I've heard that replacing the pump and reservoir with one from an 88+ Chevy truck is the way to go. That reservoir has the pump built in. I plan on trying this swap soon.

Did you look for zerks in the upper and lower balljoints?

    Front Battery being overcharged

Glad to hear it's working, but if you put in a 12v alt you no longer need the DUVAC. The whole reason for the mod is to eliminate the failure-prone DUVAC. I'm not sure if running it to a 12v alt will cause you any problems down the road or not, so I recommend keeping a close eye on it for awhile...

    Canadian security cages

Those cages are pretty cool! They would've been handy to have back when I was working security at music festivals. We could've used them to detain people that were being stupid. Were they just used to lock up weapons/ammo, equipment, etc? Were they ever intended for prisoner transport?

    M101a2 trailer tires and wheels.

You could probably swap hubs on the blazer instead of axles (assuming that you have a D44 up front). I don't think they made an 8lug 10 bolt rear though, so you may still have to swap the rear axle to a 14 bolt. If you do any kind of offroading, swapping in the M1008 axles would be a much better...

    M1008 Toy Models?

Scratch that last post info. "O" scale is actually 1/48 scale. 1/72 is a scale used mainly for model airplanes and military models.

    M1008 Toy Models?

1/72 scale is close to O gauge in the model railroad world, I believe. They are probably intended for use on Lionel train layouts. If anyone comes across these models in 1/24-1/25 scale (the typical scale for most model cars from Revell, Monogram, AMT/Ertl, etc.) please post the info here. I'd...

    Front Battery being overcharged

You may as well put your new 24v alt on the bottom for piece of mind since you're replacing the top alt with a 12v. Only thing better than one new alt is two new ones!
