    Recovery of 817 dumper from Sparta Wisc.

    Need to drop your rpms just a little more before downshifting. Normally 500 rpms is a good number, but with the deep gearing on the 5 tons, 700 is what I use, EXCEPT FOR the 4-3 downshift. That hole needs 900 RPM, and ya have to watch the timing on the shift. :jumpin: ; ; ;

    XM818 bites the dirt

    The 250 is a tough motor. Ferro had a employee driving his M818, and the water pump failed. Dumb driver drove the truck another 30 or so miles, til he KNEW it was hot. When Ferro got to the truck some 6 hours later, the motor was still hot to the touch. He got it home, changed the water...

    Rusty crusty wrecker recovery

    Yes. I am sorta responsable for Ferro buying the crusty wrecker, as I called him and told him about it(It's fun to spend other peoples money). ALso, he up and went 800 miles one way to help me with my M814, so .... wait, didn't I just trot off 1200 miles to recover his new flatbed trl? Maybe...

    M62 in South Carolina

    I'll unload all the winches out of the back of the 814, and we can load the wrecker in the back of the 814. The 814 is ready to roll on your command. With the genny, and the winches, she is back over 30k on the tires.

    M813a1 advantages over a m925?

    The 800 series are easier to work on, imo. The 2 biggest problems with the 800's is the hole between 3rd and 4th, and the top end issue. It doesn't bother me to cruise at 50mph in my 814, but some others like going faster. The other issue are the brakes. Single circuit, soso drum brakes will...

    5 ton cold start pump info

    My cold start pump works great, along with the glow plug, and I use it anytime the temp is below 40º. It works well, but does make a lot of smoke starting.:mrgreen:
