Right, torsion free is what it needs. But finding a platform that doesn't flex when off-road and crossing a washout might be hard. I am in no way shape or form saying it can't be done. Allowing some flex is what I want to have a margin of error or to have the box itself add rigidity.

Here are steps that reproduces the issue:
clear cookies
open new tab and load steelsoldiers.com
Complete the login process starting by clicking the LOG IN button in the upper right of the page
Click Classifieds from menu bar
Click Vehicles for sale
Result:

There are restrictions of being logged out such as tiny and blurred pictures and access denied when clicking on a picture to view a less small size with proper resolution. But when I login, I'm logged out automatically within a couple minutes. Why do you log me out?
Whatever J1939 hardware you buy, make sure it is quality. You don't want some chinese knockoff to short out your system. They draw power from the data bus. Drew Tech is a great brand. They test in-house, but they are expensive.

Interesting. When the shaft was put all the way in there wasn't any noticeable play. Maybe get some leverage on the shaft when it is all the way seated and see if there is too much play. If it is fine, then get a new backing plate.
