What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Nothing much this week. A trip to the gas station in Belgium for a fillup (67 litres), then a cruise followed by a meeting. And today I got a broomstick and an old flag from a band I like and mounted it all in one of the slots in de bed. Don't worry about it flying away, fastened with a bolt tru...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I was planning to take my M36a2 out for a ride, to a car meet. So I called the guy where I store it.. He was not at home, so asked if he had the key in the secret hiding place outside.. Also a negative response on that.. So no driving the Deuce, took my M1028 instead.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I also had a hanging window, on the passenger side, I needed 3 hands to get it up. 1 to crank, 2 to push the windows up. Inspection showed a bent rod somewhere in there. So with some pliers and screwdrivers bent the thing back in shape and voila, now it rolls freely up again.

The old lights that came out, were also H4 bulbs. Already had a few hours of drivetime with the old lights (continious) on, no issues yet. Not hot fuse, no funky smells. Still need to take a long drive with these ones on. the LED's are being used as driving lights, love them!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got up early yesterday (sunday) and decided to install the headlights I bought from a friend. Clear lenses with LED's on the side, to use as driving lights. Did not know how to hook it up as driving lights, so made a separate switch. Today went to a buddy to adjust the lights, because in the...

Installed another vent in the Shelter on the M101a2, now looking for 1 or 2 windows, so I can have some sunlight inside.

    Show us your Military Trailers

Did some work on the shelter that is on the modded M101a2 trailer. Added a vent, because I like some fresh air inside. Now to look around for a camper window, for light and ventilation.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Went to pick up my M36A2 from inspection. It passed, so it's road legal for another year. i asked the guy to fix the issue with not starting when hot.. Guess he did not... Luckily I also had my M1028 with me to pullstart. Turns over, gets fuel, but not firing.. Pullstart and it roared to life...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

This week: Mounted a lightbar, just to be different from the rest. Set out on a trip to get 4 near new tires with wheels, for my M36. And succeeded. Hooked up the power to the lightbar and siren, so now I can really piss off the neighbours and any other idiot on the road. :tank:

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Fixed my passenger side window. I could roll it down, but not all the way up without some help. So I pulled off the panel, rolled the windows down, and up again, while inspecting.. Found out one of the pieces of metal inside was bent out of shape, so with a pair of pliers and brute force, i bent...

    Normal top speed for Deuce

Top speed? Never tried. On normal roads I keep the speedo at 45 mph. engine seems to be happy with this speed. On the highway, I drive a bit faster, to keep up with normal trucks, but a max of 51/52 mph. Once, on the way to make it to the boat to the UK, I got her up to 55 mph, with a screaming...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Not with mine, but one from a friend: Rewired a M101a2 trailer to the Euro style lights. Without any electrical plans, we removed the original plug and cable where the trailer harness begins. Unplugged the connectors and put power on them 1 by 1, to figure out what they belong to. After we...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Drove my M36 to the shop. For inspection and if needed, some repairs to pass the inspection. The weather was very good today, so enjoyed the ride. Sunglasses, no ear protection, Sunshine and a whistle, what more does a guy need?
