I don't know how the engine would lock up if it's only sat a few months.I did take the injectors off to check for hydro lock.

I don't think I have a socket big enough to bar engine over.I tried to start yesterday morning it tried to turn over but then it just did the clunk.I have the injectors off no hydro lock.I shut the truck down in the garage and now The starter won't spin unless jumped.I can probably get a starter...

I got the solenoid off I am not certain if I should replace it or buy a Delco or Unistar Starter.The solenoid seems to be hard to find and can be pricey.I'm just looking at all options.

That's some good info do you know the part number if I decide to get a new sleeve with pin. If I can fab pin by hand I will.

Ok guys I was reading the diagram for the starter Its a prestolite. Does the solenoid under the orange rubber boot unscrew or does it have a set pin and you still have to unscrew it?

Ok guys got the solinoid disconnected except the linkage have to look at diagram on how it is taken off.

OK took the starter loose thought maybe it was hung up it did spin but not engage when jumped and when I took it loose then retighten after wiggling no go.So it clicks but doesn't engage starter but starter does spin when jumped.

Ok guys jumped starter it spins.I took out all the injectors still no go is it the solenoid or ?

Can I do it without dropping trans from the top?

I am going to post a video of the clunk if I can't figure this out.I wonder if the starter Gear got stuck.I am a little stressed about this.

Is there a diagram of how that pin works in the transmission can I get it at a local parts house?

Can I get to it from the top of the tranny without dropping again that pin is no good and I'll need to get a new one does it just ride in that hole and on the main shaft?

Ya when I parked it is shut it off now it's stuck I ll try baring it over.

I did not try to spin the engine over manually no.

It looked like a rivet all crushed or part of the manufacturing as in supposed to be punched out.I ll have to see if there's any info online.I thought it was an oil hole that shouldn't be plugged

Did both hooked jumper cables to positive and negative on battery and starter nothing.Not sure if I Did it right.

It was flopping in there G I did not put that in there because like you said it's not in the TM.The transmission is back in my truck will it cause an issue?

I adjusted it and had Transmission and and transfer case in neutral.It worked as it should at least with just visuals and depressing clutch pedal and not driving it.
