    PNW Info Thread!

    I'm chagrined to admit that even after 12 years in WA, I have no idea where the Nisqually exit is, but Bing has "10322 Martin Way East Olympia, WA 98516" as the address for Norma's Burgers. Is that the right place? It's a bit of haul for me coming from Redmond, but as my restoration ***should...

    Pre-blasting prep work guidance

    I also have heard that completely removing CARC is a fools' mission, and since only in my dreams am I made of money :grin:, I'll probably end up doing heavy blasting on the spots that really need it and then "softening" up the surface for good paint adhesion in the rest of the places. Stay...

    Cargo body weight

    I figured it'd be something along those lines. Thanks for the speedy response!

    Cargo body weight

    Hello to all! I sure hope this is a quick question! :grin: I'm going to remove the cargo bed from my M923 to blast and paint it real real good! I'm hiring a small mobile crane truck to do the heavy lifting (literally! :-D) so I need to know what to tell the guy. WP0588 in TM9-2320-272-23-4...

    Pre-blasting prep work guidance

    Hello to all! I'm about a week away from getting my entire truck blasted. I found a company whose facility can handle an M923 ***and*** they do "slurry" blasting, which is a mixture of water and abrasive media, which is very helpful for keeping the dust down to a minimum (which I've been told...

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    Epilogue: Occam's razor, simple stuff, and a better pair of glasses!!! Time sure flies when you've having fun, or - as in my case - even when you're not!!! ;-} It's been three months of mind numbing work sandwiched around four painful dental surgeries and nearly a month of major pain before...

    Blaster recommendation in Seattle area

    This is great news! They are already on my shortlist, with the single strike against them being how far away they are. Thanks for the recco!

    Blaster recommendation in Seattle area

    You have no idea how much I WANT to do this myself! :grin: I've been looking for for workshop/yard space to rent, prices are crazy around here, upwards of $500-$700/month for a 18x30 garage. Since I only get weekends to work on it, it would take me three months anyway ... might as well pay the...

    Blaster recommendation in Seattle area

    Hello to all! I've got a M923A0 in need of a goodly amount of TLC. Before I embark on a multi-month scrape/prime/paint binge, I'm debating the merits of just taking it to a local blasting company and going down to the bare metal. Problem #1: Finding a good blasting company! While my first...

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    About a thousand years ago, when I got my first car, I reveled at the chance to tear stuff apart just to see how it all works. Who knew an eon or two later ... history would repeat itself!!! :razz: Ain't that the truth!!! :grin: Thanks for the support!

    I have too much sitting above the rest of the world to regret buying it!!! ;-} Thanks for the kind words. I'm having a blast, in spite of losing my eyesight spending all my free time pouring over TMs ... :grin:

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    One of the first things I did was put a locking cutout on the system ... so the state of the batteries and connectors is about the only thing I can confidently report is in good shape!

    You are absolutely correct, and I have no reasonable excuse. I'm just thankful that some money and a chunk of pride is all this episode is gonna cost me ...
