Everybody thinks I'm crazy, but I take a little more time and remove the blower and the blower mount, and then you are right at the bottom of the pump and the mounting bolts are easy to get to with a 6" 1/4" drive extension.

The Dixie Division Military Vehicles Club co-hosts this annual military vehicle rally and flea market at the Veteran's Memorial Museum in Huntsville. Randy Withrow and staff provide a wonderful opportunity to fellowship and...
There is no commercial filter available that will fit without modifications. There is a thread on the G503 mule board on how to use a WIX filter with a spacer ring: http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=183466&hilit=fuel+filter John Emery is the only mule parts supplier that I know of...
Registration numbers are 6 digit, not 5. 33#### would be a late 1968 Baifield-built mule, serial number would be in the 114## range. If you can uncover the missing digit, I may be able to tell you more.
The last production Brunswick Corp. mules built in 1969/70 have a 3 digit serial number and...
Sorry about the crowded vehicles, we had to move things close to the back wall until the lowboys got the armor unloaded and by the time we started to spread the vehicles out, most of the folks had already set up their displays. We did manage to spread some of the smaller vehicles out. Thanks...
If you are going to run it in deep water, be sure you drain the right frame tube when you get done. Water can enter through the holes where the seat stowage clamps pass through the frame tube, but you must pull the plug at the rear of the tube to drain the water out. If you don't get the water...
Just a reminder, there is NO OUTSIDE VENDING or OUTSIDE VEHICLE DISPLAYS available at the MVPA Convention in Huntsville. All vendors and vehicles will be inside the South Hall of the Von Braun Center. ALL vehicles, either JUDGED, DISPLAY ONLY, or FOR SALE, must the registered with the MVPA. To...
Just a reminder, If you are an MVPA member and are planning to bring a vehicle or vehicles to the 2012 MVPA convention in Huntsville, Alabama on June 28, 29, 30, please be sure to register. There's no charge for display only vehicles, but we really need to know how many vehicles to expect...
Use a 3/8-24 nylon-insert locknut and a hard flat washer on each wheel stud. If the threads are bad, McMaster-Carr has what they call a "Tight-spot thread repair die" that fits a 9/16" socket and makes it very easy to repair the threads on the studs. Part number 2667A433, only $1.31 each. I keep...
Out of all the mules I have fooled with, I had one that drove me crazy. I finally set it one tooth to the right to get it to "click" between the 28 & 18 marks just like you did. The mule ran like crap, so I set it back mark-to-mark and it ran much better...never did figure that one out, but the...
I gotta agree with Rexman, you've got too much going on in your engine to chance it. Pull the engine (30 minutes max.) drop the pan & windage tray and see what's really going on in there.
I've had a few engines that I had to play around with the gear timing, only one that required the offset to the right.
You want both the "click" and the timing light to show you a mark between the 28 & 18 deg mark.
I use a timing light at idle. There's no advance in the magneto, so it does not...
Talked to Bill today and he's no longer taking mule parts orders. The new owner will be moving parts out starting this weekend, and hopes to be open for business in a month or two. I feel confident that the new owner will continue the tradition of excellent service that Bill has provided over...
I'd be worried about plugged oil passages and possible damage to rod and/or main bearings due to lack of lube. I think I'd overfill the crankcase with a gallon or so of diesel fuel and let it soak for a few days, turning the crank occasionally. I'd do it several times and see what comes out of...
I don't ever remember having a problem removing the relief valve, but just to make sure, I took a really old engine that was in my junk pile and removed the valve. I took the plug and spring out, stuck my little magnet into the hole, and the valve sliped right out.
