The vent is in the fuel cap. Its a little bar that has two positions (closed and open). You would just close it if you were travelling with chance of fording. Take the cap off and just look at the underside, you will see it.

Do you have an electric range or other high draw items you can turn on thats NOT the ac?

What CAN you load it with heavy? I assume its the LRA (startup amps) thats your problem now. If its spitting carbon at lower kws... you got some work ahead of you. Can you source Seafoam locally?
