    Mep-803a high idle

Are you able to push in the center button on the throttle control, and push the whole knob assembly inward? Yes it rotates to fine tune the hertz, but the inward movement (when unlocking this knob) will make the machine drop down to the low end of the idle setting (your other stop). Would be...

802A electrical cutting out after running dry

The fuel itself should have nothing to do with your overload fault. With that said, I think now is the time to break out the manuals and start testing what isnt working, and replace parts to get this thing up and running right. Its possible you are having problems on the DC circuit side of the...

    Fuel leak on MEP 803a

You can replace this line, your choice to hunt down OEM or another solution. This topic is well covered in the forums. I would use the search phrase 'fuel return line' and see what you get. Many different options, but an easy fix. The barb holds the fuel line just fine.

    MEP-803A smoking under load.

An 803A? It will chew up 10kw and not even know it was there if its running right. These machines ideal run setting is full output.

    MEP-802A Starts Intermittently

I assume no fault lights. Have you tried holding in the fault light reset button while cranking? If you do that, and she fires, go into battle short and see if it keeps running.

Has anyone seen the terrible quality across the block lately?

    MEP-803a. Diesel sub-tank.

Sorry no photos, but if I think of it next time I need to fill a drum I will take a few. So here is a tilting ring: https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200647603_200647603 I secure it around the belly of a drum (above the first 'ring' in the drum sidewall) and secure it in place so...

    MEP-803a. Diesel sub-tank.

Yes no places that offer offroad around here will touch a drum because it lacks 'certification to store fuel'. I use a tilting drum ring securing the drums to skids in my bed and just fill up as needed. Having a tractor helps I suppose.

    MEP-803a. Diesel sub-tank.

55g drums are cheap, easy to store, and easy to move.

    Mep 002a issue

Here is where the fuel line runs, under the belly of the generator head, and up into the first position on the tank (if you are standing to the fill side of the tank).

    MEP-803A

It was a milspec custom head. That is no longer a contracted part, and per prior agreements, select part availability is in place to keep the solution with parts for a determined amount of time. The 3rd generation of MEP has been fielded since 2013, so even those are now coming up to auction...

    MEP-803A

Parts do come up from time to time on the big auction site (and elsewhere) of generator heads and components for these machines. Primarily people breaking them down JUST for parts. They are overbuilt units... most owners should go a lifetime with the genhead needing nothing (in civilian use).

    MEP-8xx series fuel pump

They are all barbs on the return line. If you look up return line threads here, I am sure you will find the numbers. The Ts in the upper end of the return are just 1/8" vacuum tees.

    MEP-8xx series fuel pump

I don't want to assume, but this happened with the S1 switch in prime+aux correct? Or the regular run position? These lines just leak. Time to take the top off, and replace it with something better (I use a Gates hose, off the spool at O Reillys. Other hunt out the OEM Contitech... its been...

    Mep 002a issue

Yes that 90* fitting should be plumbed with the return fuel line (passes under the generator head, and over to the first right angle fitting on the fuel tank). Is there a number printed on the wire? Do you see anywhere this might have been mounted to? Is it a single wire connection only or is...

    Need a 803a engine

If you want to open your scope, you can also specify that you would settle for a Lister Petter LPW4 (same thing but not Onan branded). If you don't see anything available (there was a 813 machine with huge hours, but a newer looking engine, in eastern PA as of a few weeks ago)... I would reach...

    MEP 803a Engine Sludged Up

I think Europe (and the rest of the world) has a jump on biogas cogen. There are things on smaller scales (some universities around here maintain cogen plants on site), but I can't speak to the larger industry. I like the more rudimentary, DIY stuff.
