Correct. This company makes models that will provide 12V for up to 4 batteries simultaneously. So this unit supplies up to 4A to each unit, which is fine for standby use. The power entry cord is rated for 13A, so we are under the safe level on it too. And amazon has the **** charger for $85...

Thanks. Hopefully it sparks an idea in others about ways to add devices to their machines in 'unconventional' ways. Maybe down the line I will look into additional protection. Where mine is positioned, the fuel tank end is close to a building, so direct UV is minimized. It had only been in place...

If I replace the sheet metal screws, it will be with SS nut and bolt. I dont own a rivet tool, nor am I looking to. Thanks though.

For sure, its strange that the bigger machine is quieter... but thats the reality. I figure thats more amperage (ie more fuel) than is required. But the 803s sure are smooth runners.

Also you will want to check the wires on the temp sending unit (and especially where they are crimped to their fitting). Could simply be that it all LOOKS good, but you aren't getting continuity due to a poor connection there. All three wires in a photo you showed me appeared to be under...

Yeah the operating noise is the killer on those, not the exhaust. Bullet proof machines though. I would suggest you look for the equivalent machine to that, the MEP-802A. Thats probably going to be your quietest option of the group, and give you the amperage you require.

As others have said... wrong direction soundwise. I am not sure what your wife will be happy with sound wise... but the 802s arent that​ loud.

Does this machine have the quad fuse mod? If you aren't familiar... look it up here on the forum, and seriously consider installing it before you turn it over again.

Spoke with the manufacturer today. On this model it is fine to keep all hooked up and run, but its imperative to unplug the charging device or it may cause an overvoltage situation (where its trying to charge the battery, while the alternator is trying to as well...).
