To save anyone else from the aggravation of dealing with this guy, his phone number is 508-631-8900 (Anthony Olivieri). Folks don't realize how small the world really is....
Sorry... talking to myself while you all slumber ;)
How about something like this? http://www.kelch.com/products/view/utility-250-cap-and-gauge
I will need to determine the size opening, and OAL of the mil-spec unit... but I think something like this might be a drop in replacement?
And of course I will have to finish disassembling the tank to see if the float switch is in equally impressive condition, but I at least I want to get an idea of what I am looking at as I get one of the two sets operational.
One of the 002s I got out of TX a few weeks back has a tank that is thoroughly rusted on the interior (the set seems to be triple rinsed 3+ years ago, based on verbiage spray painted onto it). Good going guys!
So I was in the midst of taking the tank off the other unit I have, to see if I can...
Oh, and its precisely guys like this... that are the reason I use a google voice phone number for all of my online/craigslist ads. For those that do ANY selling through craigslist, consider signing up for one (https://www.google.com/voice). It doesn't cost a thing, and you are given an...
Can't wait to hear it. You should read the note back I got from this ungrateful SOB. I go out of my way to help this guy and arm him with information, and even try to illicit a response from someone like Evil Dr. to help the guy... and this dude is all upset at me and 'THANK YOU FOR ABSOLUTELY...
Welcome to SS. For starters... did the machine come with any manuals? If not, have you downloaded them? A casual pass through isn't going to answer your question tonight... but the sooner the manuals become less daunting... the easier your life will be.
Almost all of the switching devices on...
I did tell him that. Based on how many machines I have seen hit the auction blocks with destroyed or missing sheet metal... I think he could make up the grand on just metal parts, let alone the engine or gauge controls.
PM me with your info, and what you are asking. I will be happy to pass it on and see if you two can figure something out. He didn't buy a thing from me, but its not always about that.
The quick synopsis... been dealing with a potential buyer of a machine of mine locally. He decided to look elsewhere, and informed me that he bought a unit for $1k (Reset, 400 hours), which is substantially less than the mint 803 I am offering. Tis OK, part of the dance.
I have tried to be as...
I am not a generac fan (as already stated), but just throwing out other options...

And for those of you who are of the mechanically inclined type, with access to machinery... http://www.denhartogindustries.com/wp-content/uploads/product-pdfs/10897.pdf
So it seems the culprit is the float assembly. I took the fuel float module out of my working 803 and put it into the 802... same no fuel condition (almost immediately). So I took the one from the 802 and into the 03 she went... seems to run fine!
Time to go hunt one down... the unit on fleabay...
