    MEP-002A & MEP-003A Generator A/C Volt Regulator Info.

Can't wait to get some time this weekend to take a look at mine. Thanks for the info!
  2. Light in the Dark

Quick and legal way to connect generator to home

Their info states to have your local utility do the install.

Building the "Glockfan" generator pad with the boys

Thanks for the clarification. I read that large thread months ago about proper grounding, and I could have sworn I read what I wrote. All the same, thanks to everyone who contributes to this place.

Building the "Glockfan" generator pad with the boys

Now I thought you leave the grounding bar in place between N and G if you are grounding to the panel, and remove if you are locally grounding the set with copper rod as a freestanding install (so no other earth grounds on the system)?

    002 oil psi switch

Is there a preferred tool for removing these? Seems anything I own is too long to do the job (at least with the oil filter and housing in place).

Moderators~ Time for a Generator only forum!?

I think breaking it out as generators, then if you were feeling froggy... 1st Gen MEP, 2nd Gen TQG, 3Rd Gen AMMPs (which would be pretty empty as of now). But I think just having all the generators under one roof would go a long way to start (because we aren't all seasoned pros when first coming...

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Good to know (Bad assumption on my part). Maybe I should source an OEM negative lead them with terminal on it (or find the terminal adapter like on my POS lead) and just remove the disconnect down the line.

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Just picked up a $5 disconnect like the OEM and cut the suppressor out of #1 and she runs again. Not what I wanted to do, but what the budget allows at the moment.

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Yeah the breakout is not necessary for my purposes. And I might elect to just replace the cable from the starter back to NEG with a post terminal connection and I'll just undo it each time I need do.

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Yes thank you for finding that option. It might be a real good 'in between' upgrade from the stock disconnect to the higher end units.

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

It is expensive, but it appears to be made in a superior way (internal height adjustment of contacts versus side to side rotation switches). It does not advertise as ruggedized, but its inherently vibration resistant due to how it works... which on an 002A isn't the worst thing in the world...

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Drill two holes in the frame, and mount this up using integrated star washer nuts (like everything else bolted to the frame for grounding purposes).
  13. Light in the Dark

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Well I think this might be what I end up going with. Will just need to mount off the frame, and get some new wires from the post to this, and from this to the next post... but I think this is more in line with the quality of the machine it is being bolted to. Thoughts...

    MEP 805B on a M200A1

Guy you have them all scanned? I can assemble them into either individual PDF bundles, or split 1 huge volume into two, if that fits onto the SS database better. Feel free to message me about this separately.

    MEP 805B on a M200A1

A quick google search for that TM number pulls up this: http://www.liberatedmanuals.com/TM-9-6115-663-13-and-P.pdf

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

No I don't use it often... home backup that I am just trying to get to a fully functioning state. But we are in the heart of the season where we lose power the most often. So I am pissed that its down again, but I do have a functional 803A with a jumpy fuel gauge and temp gauge that isnt reading...

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Hmm.... well I'm not sure what to do now. I do believe this event has fried the suppressor though on my main pump, which I am kind of pissed about.

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

Are you referencing the bar style I linked to Guy, or the OEM unit which broke?

    Negative Battery Cable Design 002/003A

The link has been updated to the stud style, which should more readily accept the ring terminal on the OEM cable.
